Your Score

Your scored 2 on the Moral Order axis and -1.5 on the Moral Rules axis.

Matches

The following items best match your score:

System: Conservatism
Variation: Moderate Conservatism
Ideologies: Capital Republicanism
US Parties: Republican Party
Presidents: Gerald Ford (88.95%)
2004 Election Candidates: George W. Bush (79.63%), John Kerry (77.79%), Ralph Nader (62.96%)
Statistics

Of the 53975 people who took the test:

0.4% had the same score as you.
42.5% were above you on the chart.
50.4% were below you on the chart.
12.9% were to your right on the chart.
78.3% were to your left on the chart.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, on yet another test, I come up closest to Gerald Ford.

I'm always closest to him on pretty much every test I take.

Makes sense, I suppose.  We are both Moderate Conservative Republicans who come from very similar states.

I think the short test is bunk, since saying "all people are fundamentally bad" puts you close to Reagan.  That's not what Reagan thought at all, quite the opposite.

You're only 0.5 different from my result, but that was enough to put me equally near Ford and GHW Bush.

apparently I'm into Liberalism, with both variations Extreme Liberalism and Moral Liberalism and my President is Lyndon Johnson.

I don't mind being called a Liberal, or a Moral Liberal or an Extreme Liberal, but it also calls my ideology Progressivism.  I g hate being called Progressive.  I'll stick with Left-Wing Repbulican, thankyouverymuch.

I'm wondering if any of the other Left Wing Republicans got labelled Progressive.  Mitty?  Htmldon?  Shall we write them some nasty email and ask them to please change that offensive label to something slightly less obnoxious?  Let me know how you feel.

Also, I'm not sure what to make of all this:

Of the 54324 people who took the test:

   1. 0.1% had the same score as you.
   2. 72.5% were above you on the chart.
   3. 22.2% were below you on the chart.
   4. 85.6% were to your right on the chart.
   5. 9.9% were to your left on the chart.

I was aware that only about one-tenth of the population were as enlightened as I, but otherwise I'm a bit mystified.  What the hell is 9.9% of the fifty-four thousand are to my "left"?  Are they giving this test in China and Cambridge, MA only?  I'm pretty sure that at least handful of Republicans, and maybe 15 to 25% of the Dems are to my real "Left" according to most of those tests.

Some of the things that are considered libertarian on here labeled liberal. Likewise I always thought socialism was extreme economic liberalism. I am also labeled "Conservative NeoLiberalism". How is that for a combination? Which does seem libertarian would be more related. And I don't think a more extreme form of progressivism would be libertarian capiltalism.  I though that that would be socialism. Oh well. Still an interesting quiz. I am put closest to Reagan. Wonder how I would compare to Peroutka and Badnarik instead of just Bush, Kerry, and Nader.

I appreciate what you're saying.  Remember the English and the Americans do not use the word "liberal" the way most other folks do.  We have often discussed this with foreign posters such as Gustaf and HuckFinn.  For example, if you look at the PDF website, it calls itself a "liberal" party.  Well, the germans would call "liberal" what you and I might call "libertarian" and what we would call "liberal" they might call "way too politically correct"  Still, given that "liberal" means, in many cultures, smaller, less-intrusive government (i.e., lower taxes, fewer restrictions on prostitution, drugs, etc.) then you can take it in the spirit in which it was intended.  Thus I am Extremely Liberal.  (I actually got both Moral Liberalism and Extremely Liberal which I take to mean I'm on the cusp between those two.  Not surprising, as I do support public spending on public schools, etc., and is a big part of the reason I'm a Republican and not a Libertarian.  The reason I'm a Republican, and not a democrat, is, of course, much more complicated, but I usually blow the question off by saying I'm much too Nationalistic to be anything other than a Republican.  Seems to satisfy most folks.)

Your other comment is well taken as well.  Or maybe it's an inference and not a comment.  Hey, there is only so much space there.  I'd also like to know where it put me compared to Harry Browne, Michael Peroutka, Michael Badnarik, Al Sharpton, et al.  You can take a look at the SelectSmart feature if you're interested to know how you overlap with the 9 or so major candidates.  Bear in mind that the people who run that show are very anti-GOP and don't mind if you know that.  Still it's fun.

Try looking in here for that one:  http://www.selectsmart.com/politics.htmlhttp://www.selectsmart.com/politics.html

For President and Candidates, the percentage measures the distance between you and them where 100% is a perfect overlap and 0% is the longest possible distance.
If you overlap two regions, they are both listed. So if you see both Liberalism and Conservatism, you are a "perfect" Centrist.

Not relevant.

I came much closer to Kerry.

Just because you vote for an opposing party candidate, it doesn't mean you're a member of that party.

We need rules and some things are morally superior to others.  Not a perfect test, but that's basically what I believe, so it worked.

Except it gave me Nixon as a President, Nixon sucked.  I don't believe in price controls.
