They could. Though of course, Christie's people are hoping they can give to both.
I mean, yeah, it's not impossible for Christie to run and forego that Wall Street money for his own campaign, and hope that the Super PACs cover it....but it's less than ideal. We'll just have to see how it goes. Maybe he'll try to hold on as governor during the primary campaign, and then resign if he wins the nomination (a la Bob Dole).That's what I think he should do. It'd be too much during the general, where he'll be mr moderate and see much more donations than among the primary audience of donors.
Other governors will face similar problems....like Cuomo.
