How many of these bills have we seen in the past few months?  The "rebranding" effort continues.

It's worth noting that Rubio also voted against VAWA and wrote a bill which would have allowed any business or organization to cut off contraceptive coverage simply by citing religious grounds.  He is developing a terrible record on women's rights.  Maybe he thinks this will be forgotten if he makes it to the 2016 general election.  Please proceed senator.

He's just trying to keep his conservative street cred after helping "the illegals".

But I wonder how important an anti-amnesty position will be in the 2016 primaries? Cruz could probably crush Rubio 1:1 but in a crowded field someone like Christie could squeak by if there's no united conservative backing behind one candidate like Cruz or Paul.

Dear conservatives,

Please don't abandon me. Even if I did sponsor a bill that would allow some brown people not to be deported, I'll make it up to you. Look, I can ban abortions!

Sponsoring legislation is good for a candidate to get their name out. It can go both ways though because the public will have plenty to debate about when Rubio runs for the white house.

While I agree that Rubio has been one of the worst potential candidates when it comes to women's issues, this won't hurt him in a general election as much as you think.

Helps Democrats in 2016 and doesn't have a chance in hell at getting passed?  We'll take it!
