Most fellow Democrats I've met resemble person 3, though person 2 comes up every now and then. I've met people like person 1 before several times and they generally vote 3rd party.

1 and 2. Don't know really of any Type 3s-most of the teachers at my school are female and somewhat younger while the two male APUSH teachers are both Republican.

I can't be bothered to properly sh**t all over another Atlas thread attempting to neatly organise people based on shallow characteristics. An "average Democrat" is someone who votes for Democrats most of the time. If you met someone and judge their political beliefs and voting habits based on their car, sport preferences, brand of shoes, likelihood of believing in conspiracy theories, mother's cup size, number of exotic piercings, or whatever, then you are probably failing to connect with people in a healthy way.

Most Democrats aren't actually liberal stereotypes, you know. I'd say the average Democratic voter is a lot more socially conservative than the average Democratic politician and on the whole much, much more populist on economics.

The Labor Department released its June jobs report today with news that the economy added 195,000 jobs last month, while the national unemployment rate held steady at 7.6 percent. The good news is that the numbers were higher than the 165,000 a Bloomberg survey of economists had estimated.

But some of the report's numbers give pause: Even though the overall unemployment rate held steady, the overall jobless number for African Americans rose to 13.7 percent in June from 13.5 percent in May.
