So we can assume Morsi is either already in some sort of custody?

Anyway, I can't see any room for him now.

The Minister of Defense, who gave this ultimatum, was appointed by Morsi

The army is loyal to the army.

All of Morsi's aides have left the presidential palace, he's alone there.

Allende 2.0, or will they get him and lock him up?

Anyhow, what comes next is probably not any better and quite likely even worse.

They've erected barriers and barbed wire around the barracks where Morsi is.

I wonder what role the USA is playing in all of this. Does Obama Admin want Morsi gone? MSNBC just reported that Chuck Hagel has been in regular contact with the Egypt Defense Minister this week and we know that Egypt's Military gets a lot of $ from the USA

BBC says military statement will be in about an hour. As for the US, they're not taking sides.

i know Obama admin isn't taking sides officially, but what is going on behind the scenes? I imagine Obama admin will not be sad to see Morsi go assuming someone more secular replaces him

I wonder how long can he stay in the RG barracks. I also wonder, what resistance would the RG put in case of storming the place.

Does Morsi have any allies on the international stage at all?

ElBaradei and senior clergy will announce a political roadmap later, presumably after Sisi finishes his speech.

Actually, I think "more of the same" is the most likely for now. We've gone full circle and are back to where we were in February 2011.

Will we see the next "military-backed revolution" in 2015? It's at least a possibility.

Military told Morsi 2 hours ago he's no longer president.

They've almost completely sealed off the palace. Question is how they get him out of there.

Sisi has finished speaking. The constitution has been suspended, constitutional court chief justice will assume the interim presidency, early presidential and parliamentary elections, code of ethics for media. He said that they warned Morsi on June 22 about "insults to the Egyptian people" and other things.

New constitution will be drafted, they'll empower youth in the decision-making process, and will not tolerate violence. Still didn't mention what they're doing with Morsi.

Nice promises... I have a hard time believing they will be kept, though...

Didn't Thailand already had a military coup a few years back?
