What about Reagan in 1984 he was just 3000 votes away from sweeping all 50 states

That is one way to measure it....Nixon lost Massachusetts by a wide  margin, whereas the rest all lost more than one state (even if you want to say Roosevelt only lost two, he lost them both badly).

Also Reagan is the only one to win a majority of CD's in every state.
