In 1932 it was the most Republican county in Missouri, if I'm not mistaken, while all of the immediately surrounding counties voted for Roosevelt. It was also quite GOP in 1936.
Checked on Wikipedia-doesn't seem to be a stand-out county. It's a small county, with less than 10,000 people living in it.
Anyone want to fill me in on this county in west-central MO?
Can't really find anything interesting about this county, I guess it just adapted to the rest of Missouri, but Southwest and South Central Missouri have been historically republican compared to the rest of Missouri.
