I was the victim of a HORRIBLE prank Saturday night. My brothers asshole friend decided to pull up a fake porn site invented by 4chan. Before I could stop him, he searched “Lolita” which I knew was a tern bound to pull up illegal content. Sure enough, a warning came up saying my IP was logged and that the FBI would be notified. Not knowing what to do, I panicked, went into IRC chat to explain the situation (hoping that a government agent would be watching the conversation) and spent all Sunday waiting nervously for the police to raid my house. Nothing happened, and I later found out that this was not a real website. I was and am furious; I almost had a complete breakdown to the point that among the many, many options I was considering was voluntarily committing myself to a psychiatric hospital to preempt the police, who were obviously NOT looking for me.

Is it wrong that I laughed at this?

If it happened to somebody else, I would have laughed, so I have no hard feelings. I see a shrink about once a month to discuss things, and this dominated the conversation. I'm feeling the physical effects of the stress it caused, but otherwise I am alright.

I laughed too honestly

But I can understand and sympathize with your fear and the prank did go a little far

Right. I don't want anything bad happening.

I was in IRC when it happened. I laughed my ass off to his face, considering years of 4chan tipped me off to the prank years ago.

I received a huge parcel in the mail today from a guy I knew (via the interwebs) in France. He sent me a whole ton of newspaper clippings for all municipal elections since 1959, a book on municipal elections since 1945 and an electoral atlas of France since 1848 which is probably the best book ever published in human history. So, it's really supremely awesome.

Also, D -8 before my trip.

I recently got an AX-22 brother electric typewriter; about two weeks ago, I got new ribbon for it. Than the Daisy Wheel fell apart as I typed with it….so after weeks of looking, I discovered that a local office supply store in West Palm Beach that has been in business since 1922 carries them. So I got $40 from the bank, and was dropped off at the train station. The train was 45 minutes late, and once I got on board, it took another 30 minutes because they were changing crews. Finally, the short train ride to WPB gets underway. I walked about two miles into downtown WPB in the 91 degree heat, still paranoid about the previous days prank, and got to the store….and it was closed-apparently it randomly moved to Lake Worth without mentioning ANYTHING on its website. So I ate at Jimmy Johns, and walked to the train station, noticing that this homeless man who I first saw at the Boynton Station started appearing everywhere I went. I assumed I was being followed and zig-zagged my way across town to shake him. I eventually did. I got on the train, got back home to Boynton, and walked another two miles to my house.

Safe to say that this has been the worst part of the worst summer of my life, and that I cannot wait for 2013 to end. 2013 began to suck in November 2012.

I'm really so sorry (I honestly haven't laughed). Your brother has really bad friends...

I was atrociously bitten all over my feet, ankles, and low calves tonight by red ants!  I was standing talking to a 'lady of the evening' along the beach, and was suddenly under a vicious and terrible attack.  I jumped up and down, swiping at my lower appendages.  It was pretty amusing I suppose.  It took several minutes, nearly a half an hour, for the pain to subside - I nearly threw in the towel, but happily found succor soon after with a very nice new friend.

I had seven interviews today. Six went well I think, one didn't seem to go as well but we'll see. Eight more tomorrow. And then ten more total on Monday and Tuesday.

Only two more days of work. Gonna have to be working eight hour days though. We've finished drilling through the ends of the factory rollers, now it's our job to bolt them together. Given the inaccuracy of the holes we drilled, we've been having to use "pine trees"--drill bits that are staggered so that the hole gradually widens as you get deeper--to try to forge a path between the holes on two different rollers so that we can get enough space to put a bolt in. We've got four different five-roller sets done and should get the rest done tomorrow. Sixteen more hours to go, and at thirteen bucks an hour! Haha!

Summer associate jobs next year. My school does a four-day long interview program, so it started today and ends on Tuesday. It actually went pretty well (at least I think it did; I guess we'll see if I get any callbacks). I'm really glad I'm not a finance guy or a consultant though, from what I've heard of their interviews (compared to law interviews) it sounds like torture.

Well I am officially finished with work, so it seems. With college fast-approaching, I've got to knuckle down on what's apparently important--writing grad party thank you's (still!) and getting in touch with my room mate about what we're bringing.

I'm now sitting at MCI Kansas City Airport - I will be flying out to Utah today!

The airport is small, especially when the two airports I'm most familiar with are Indianapolis and Atlanta. I have a layover in Denver, which is exciting, as I've actually never been in Colorado! I'll be spending from now until the 22nd with my brother and his family out there - I'm looking forward to spending time with my nephews and niece. One of my nephews is seven months old, and this is my first time meeting him, so I'm especially excited for that.

The day after I get back from Utah I move in at KU! This summer has flown by, which is a good thing, as I have much to look forward to this fall! On the radar: KU Basketball, CPAC St. Louis, and tailgating at the football games!

Why is it that all these admissions department jobs sound awful? Why don't they have things like... I dunno, lawn mower, ditch digger, lumberjack, or manual laborer available for work study? Things that involve knowing things about the school seem like they'd be a bad fit for me, for obvious reasons.

I go back to school on Wednesday, which sounds great. This has been a terrible summer. The good news is that I have my driving test scheduled for August 21st, and on August 30th-August 31st, I am going to attend the Americans for Prosperity conference in Orlando. I am planning on meeting Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Marco Rubio (again), T-Paw (again), and Bobby Jindal. Annoying d-bags like David Horowitz, Michelle Malkin, and Greg Gutfield will also be trolling the conference. None the less, I hope to attend some nice panel discussions that will be aired on C-SPAN, get some cool pictures, shake some hands and maybe reconnect with some political friends. My aunt and uncle live in Vero, which is about an hour and a half east of Orlando, so I will just stay at their house or something like that.

I've gotten two callbacks for another round of interviews at the respective firms, and one rejection so far. One I don't really want to work for unless it's the only option, the other I'd really like to work for.

The girl I have been seeing for sometime moved back from Georgia, so I had a...busy...weekend. I'm definitely happy I was able to use my Sunday to detox and get some sleep.

There is only a week left of summer vacation before I'm back in school, and I may be moving to a different law firm to work at part time during the year. I'm just afraid if I try to leave my current job, they will kill me. Sad

Went to a "Breaking Bad" viewing party earlier today. Before that I'd been kayaking. Pretty good day.

A fairly hot conservative evangelical girl has me considering faking my beliefs in exchange for a lifelong monogamous relationship with an obedient wife and good looking children.  I'll probably come to my senses later and not go through with it, but I thought I would share that with you all.

Sounds like a good plan to me. People have faked beliefs for likely millennia for the sake of happiness.
