Bushie what happened to your successful Alva trip since you're now focusing elsewhere?

As I said last night, my top priority was CAD-Mechanical and second option was NWOSU.  I did some research last night and found another vo-tech in the area offers CAD-Mechanical and that vo-tech moved to number 2 on the list and bumped NWOSU down to #3.  I just called Metro Technology Center, the Option 1 Vo-Tech and they do offer CAD-Mechanical except its just not in the online catalog.  So, Option 1 wins.  I went up to Alva Monday night and yesterday morning to make sure I had all the facts before making my decision.  While in Alva, I called Metro Technology Center here in Oklahoma City to talk to the counselor, but she was out of the office, but I was told she would be in the office today.  So, I just called her this morning, and now I have my answer and the decision has been made.  I'm going with the CAD-Mechanical certificate.  The counselor is changing my application from CAD-Architecture to CAD-Mechanical.  Problem solved.

As expected, the Alva trip was an excuse to get out of the trailer park and relax in a motel room with softcore porn, and hit the IHOP and Mickey Dees along the way.

No way of sugarcoating it.  Real working out involves running, swimming, lifting, etc., etc.
^^^^
As some may be aware from my very poorly executed attempt of an update, I've been trying very hard to get in shape. It's been 5 months now, and I've dropped from 200 to 185. But it sure as hell hasn't been from sloppy joes or leisurely strolls around the block. I go to the gym for about an hour, three or four times a week. Half hour of lifting and half hour of cardio that keeps my heart rate at 150. It's been a lot of pushing myself and sweaty work. Don't kid yourself that it will be easy and that walking for a few minutes while you mainline lard is going to get the job done. It's not.

With gas prices coming back down it may be a little easier to get to the Indian Wellness Center a little more often than just once a month.  I don't know about 3 times a week, but I could probably alternate between walking one day and going to the gym the next.  My dietitian wants me to walk 20 minutes a day for 4 days a week to start.  To me 20 minutes is not enough, so when I do walk, I try to get 30 minutes in.

Honest question.  What do you guys think about Taco Salad for dinner as far as its nutritional benefits?  I had two bowls of it last night.

Yeah, that's what I figured.  I figured it up last night and I estimate I had upwards of 1,300 calories just from the Taco Salad.  I may be underestimating that, too.

So far today, I've had one regular Dr Pepper can that I brought home from Alva yesterday and about 2 1/4 cups of Crispix Cereal with 1 3/4 cups 2% milk.  I've had roughly 600 calories so far today.

Bushie the dietician surely provided a comprehensive list of foods to eat and ones to avoid.  Just follow it, damnit!

I'll be gone June 20 - July 2.  So, 13 days altogether.

Mom and I will be going grocery shopping either tomorrow or Saturday and we'll get some of the items that the Dietitian recommended.

And what's the total cost of this venture, approximately?

Altogether, including spending money approximately $3500.

I was spotted $2400 last May.

Really enjoyed The Machinist!

Btw, someone needs to tell Bushie that if he goes on a crash-starvation diet like that he needs to make it mostly a very small amount of fat/nutrient dense meat and/or one or two eggs, a very small amount of fruit and/or carefully chosen nutrient rich vegetables.  No carbs, and certainly no Crispix cereal!

(alternatively you could skip the fruit and veggies as well and maybe make up for it with some vitamins, but I don't think it would be healthy, particularly for your teeth and bones, to do entirely without protein, 'good fat', and calcium for 6 months)

Taco salad is just as bad for you as anything else. It's full of cheese, sour cream, beans, hamburger meat, taco shell, and whatever else on it. It's not really a salad at all.

And you ordered two? You likely ate 2000 calories plus for dinner.

And you're still drinking regular soda....

My mother made the Taco Salad, and it just had hamburger meat, a little shredded cheese, lettuce, ranch style beans, catalina dressing, and doritos.  No sour cream or shell.  It was just in a regular glass bowl.

Tonight's supper looks like it will be beans and cornbread.  At least the beans are protein.  I usually only have 2 small cornbread muffins.

No sour cream or shell but dressing and doritios. It's a wash.

Yeah it doesn't matter if it had a shell or Doritos. Who cares?

And beans and cornbread. That country cooking! You're dead in the water. Tongue
