How do you explain defending Xahar for inactivity while condemning Napoleon?
Everyone loves a success story. Xahar got elected by TNF and Co. on a platform of inactivity. In other words, expectations were met. When Xahar resigned and accepted reappointment, expectations were exceeded because drama is good. I was elected by people who believed I would be an active and engaged senator and I failed to be that. When I resigned and tried to allow someone better to take office, it was part of an elaborate and predetermined scheme to troll the game, which I was able to do by preemptivelg reading the mind of RG Fritz to know how he would judge ones registration.

Your reform for the Basic Income is not good... We debated that in the Senate and the current Welfare Program that we've created is more sophisticated as it gives some incentives for people to work... The minimum weekly income that you suggested is $500, for those who doesn't work currently would receive $312,5 in our Nixcome Project that is working now.

Maybe I could support a greater Nixcome if there's a smaller minimum wage (that is equivalent to your proposed $500 a week for example) and if you keep with the Negative Income Tax mechanism that we have proposed. What I could support is something like a raise from the yearly $15.000 to an annual $20.000-24.000 .

What do you think of it? Tongue

I don't know how he's defending his activity, considering he said he failed at his job.

I didn't even criticize Xahar...and lets face it, I was TNF before TNF was TNF, if that makes sense.

Senator, I have a small question, if you don't mind answering it. Could you give a more detailed explanation as you why you voted "Nay" to confirm GAworth and Superique as SoIA and SoEA? You never said anything negative about GAworth, and while you mentioned Superique's views on Israel as a negative point, you voted to confirm Sjoyce and Bacon King as SoEA, and they had views that were almost identical to Superique's views, Israel included.

For what it's worth, in my confirmation thread I agreed to establishing a program of military sanctions, to be progressively removed as Israel met specific targets (including specifically the apartheid wall, the refugee crisis, and settlements). I don't know if Superique went quite that far.

When SJoyce and Bacon King were up for a vote I was also not pushing a bill to throw up sanctions against Israel. I am now, and I would like to support someone for SoEA that is completely with me on that objective. Superique is not, which is why I have voted against him.

As for GAworth, I voted 'Nay' because I did not want to deprive the Midwest of one of it's most effective regional leaders, and I find unanimity in nominations to be boring. I have no doubt that he will do a proper job as SoIA.

I still have my private doubts about Superique, but I agree with GAworth, he'll do great in Nyman, but it's a real loss for our Region. Thanks for the answers!

My opponent likes to pretend he's a moderate, but his actions today seem to speak otherwise. Governor Lumine has of course made known his interest in joining a vile "think-tank" named after known anti-semite and Nazi-sympathizer Walt Disney, and is even considering seeking the Vice Chairmanship of that organization as we speak.

I could consider being Vice-Chairman, but forgive me if I wait a few hours or a couple of days to see if more people join. In the meantime, may I suggest changing Walt Disney for James Lovelock? The man is more important than Disney on the field, his Gaia hypothesis was been extremely relevant (as Superique pointed out to me a few days ago), and he might be a less controversial choice.

As if that weren't enough, the Governor has praised the election of JCL, a known far-right, homophobic reactionary who supports banning abortion and destroying working class living standards by supporting "right-to-work" legislation and the curtailment of the welfare state.

Unlike my opponent, I will not pander to the far-right to win it's vote for Senate. My goal is the destruction of capitalism and all unjust hierarchical systems which enslave working people in this country. My opponent is fine with cozying up with fascism if it means he'll be able to get some votes in the process.

The only language we should be speaking to fascists is that of fire, of brimstone, of lead.

I make no bones about it that I'm an advocate of market based economics , rather than government based solutions, to promote job growth.  Your brand of socialism has failed every time it has been tried. Just look at what you guys exacerbated in the Pacific region.

The faith communities have much better ideas on how to help the less fortunate than the government. That's why the government should look to them for help on this issue. It's also why family matters should be handled closer to home. The national government simply doesn't cut it.

Yes I am passionately pro-life but I'm wanting to work out a fair and just compromise that my regions citizens want with as little, preferably none, intervention by the Nyman government as possible. One size doesn't always fit all.

Homophobia implies I fear the LGBT community. That couldn't be further from the truth. While I oppose gay marriage and always will, I've not made a single move to change the current laws to hinder gay rights in Atlasia. Marriage should be a strictly regional legal matter.

Right to Work legislation is legislation to defend individuals against forced union membership. How is that reactionary? It's common sense. If you've looked at specific tax policies I've outlined in my office thread you'll see that no one pays more than 40% in income taxes.

I'll give you reactionary when it comes to my healthcare policy. I sure want to restore the free market it's rightful place in this industry. Sure, I'm ok with a small safety net to help the poor but let people decide on how they conduct their healthcare decisions. Quit making those for them.

As it is, I'm proud to endorse your opponent. We need more like him in the Atlasian Senate.

Endorsed for re-election! While we disagree on some social issues like gun control or marijuana, we seem to agree on about everything economic related and some other social views so if I do end up deciding to move to the Midwest, you'll be my first preference!

What do you have to say to about the social consequences of your Anti-Plutocracy Act?

The bill creates more homelessness, destroys community involvement such as estate-funded scholarships, leaves kids with less opportunity, devastates private social assistance, and significantly reduces the availability of capital.

Are you ready to condemn kids, widows, and charitable organizations?

The bill will provide for sufficient funds that the federal government will be able to use to wipe out homelessness, child poverty, and invest a lot of money in higher education. I would much rather these things be the responsibility of the federal government than waiting around on private charity, which is one of the reasons I've introduced this bill.

You speak as if private social assistance is deficient and the government is a worker of miracles. That's clearly just not the case. Churches and youth organizations have done more to combat hunger and poverty than government. Take my home of Appalachia for example, government intervention has entirely failed to solve the issue of chronic poverty. Meanwhile, private organizations like Workforce West Virginia and churches have made large strides in combating extreme poverty.

As far as college aid, the big government top down approach has COMPLETELY failed to make college affordable. An education gets more and more expensive the more the federal government spends. That's not a coincidence. Private aid, however, scales to the value offered by an education. It injects free market variables and increases efficiency. It is far superior to government aid. This bill devastates that opportunity.
