Just to insert some discussion, based on our budget outlook, do any of you think that the "Shop at the Pacific Act" ought to be repealed?

While I do not oppose economic stimulus generally, I think that tax credits to businesses, especially done in a protectionist manner as the "Shop at the Pacific Act" implements them, are not the best way to promote economic growth. So in other words, I would support the repeal of the "Shop at the Pacific" Act.

With unemployment so high, I think we need major infrastructure projects to be announced...

I'm not a councillor anymore but I think that the best way to deal with the budget would be by getting rid of the Shop at the Pacific while keeping taxes in low levels specially for the poor and for the middle class as Spamage have proposed. We are still a "young" region when it comes to budget and I don't believe that we should have an enormous budget because new laws and other expenditures will raise a lot.

What I do believe we should have in our budget:
Progressive Income Tax + Flat Sales Tax

or

Progressive Consumption Tax (Grocery Items and Out-of-pocket medical expenditures excluded)
Thousands of dollars for Natural Disasters
Good amount of money for education!

Good luck, Councilliors!

While I'm able to work on the wiki I don't always have the time, I think this bill would be another step forward. While we have one of the longest wiki pages, we also have one of the most out of date with there being many references to Wolfentoad as the current governor as well as a lack of updating charts and figures relating to the region.

We need a property/capital gains/inheritance/wealth tax and regional public jobs program. I don't think the protectionist act should be repealed, but if someone were to give me details I might change my mind.

I think we need to do this in order to get our budget discussion back on track and more realistic. This is too expensive for now, but I'm not opposed to a modified form later.

https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Repeal_of_the_Repeal_of_the_Education_and_Care_for_Children_in_Poverty_Act
Let's expand this to all families at less subsidized rates(the only thing I could find on it).
