At the behest of Pres. Clinton, Paul Begala, and James Carville, Al Gore chooses Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia as his running mate. Remember in real life Miller voted for Gore and contributed money to his campaign.

More or less, Miller saves Gore's bacon.

He might win with Miller, but I doubt he wins by that much more. Gore is Gore.

But most likely, I think Zell Miller would have a similar effect as Lieberman.

Same map as 2000, except with Florida.

true, but you would not have all the voter fraud nonsense. gore was a good senator but by the early 2000's he was too out there, but i would have voted for gore/miller.

Gore/Miller divides the south. They carry Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, and Indiana and smash Bush/Cheney who hold New Hampshire by a handful of votes. Instead of the Florida recount, they spend weeks recounting in New Hampshire.

That's an interesting change.

Miller might have helped Gore swing enough conservative voters when news broke of Bush's drunk driving arrest.

He would have helped in some parts of Florida, although it's not clear that he would have made up for Lieberman.

But it's also conceivable that Miller would have pushed some Gore voters to Nader, allowing Bush to win New Mexico, Wisconsin, Iowa and Oregon, states he lost by half a percentage point.
