Kind of unsure why Chuck Todd was trying to position himself to Brit Hume's right. Brit Hume, while aggressively trying to say it was an act of terror, did not blame the President for not doing so right away. Todd, however, did.

At this point it would probably more accurate to speculate that it is a home-grown terrorism case, but whether the impetus was domestic concerns or something else remains to be known.

I hope this bit of whether it matters whether the perps where of the Left or Right, non political, Christian, Muslim or atheist, or none of the above, is out of everyone's system. There are nutters out there from all stripes, and to make something out of what the nutter(s) believed as opposed to what was done, simply serves no useful purpose that I can think of.

And I say nutter deliberately. No cause can be furthered by this sort of act. It can only be hurt. Most of the planet recoils from the slaughter of the totally innocent. It requires a psychotic mind to go where the perp(s) went here.

Well, even if a militant Islamist lone wolf did this, Al Qaida would have some knowledge in advance, and would immediately claim responsibility. They have yet to do so.

1) Why would Al Qaeda have advance knowledge of it if it's an Islamist lone wolf?

2) Al Qaeda rarely claims responsibility for their attacks after they happen.  They didn't even claim responsibility for 9/11: http://edition.cnn.com/2001/US/09/16/inv.binladen.denial/index.html?_s=PM:US

They would have knowledge to some degree, because most of these lone wolfs are posters on the underground Jihadist forums, and most of them have been to Yemen or the tribal regions of Pakistan for some type of training, though they are not actual members of the group.
