I only support the first amendment. The rebate for bikes is too high (though maybe it could be raised a bit from $50-$75) and I will certainly not support punishing a family for having 2 cars. Both spouses may need to go to work you know.....

Hmm, if it was a limit of one car per every eligible person in the household (so 16 year olds would be eligible), I could support it.

I would word the amendment like this:
3) Individuals who own multiple vehicles shall be ineligible for the rebates specified in Section 1, Clauses 1,2 and 3. Each family member, including minors eligible to drive, will be considered an individual for the purpose of this bill. Multiple cars registered to a single individual will not make that individual ineligible so long as those extra cars are being primarily driven by a member of their immediate family, such as their spouse, children or parents.

The problem I have with the other amendment is that it doesn't cost that much money to buy a bike. We should not just give away bikes for free and then give them some extra cash on top of that.

I will very gladly support amendment 54:46, almost anything to help our businesses is a good thing in my book. I also can support 54:49. I do not support Nix's other amendments, for the following reasons:

54:47 $2,500 is far too much for a bicycle, even if you are purchasing it for commuting purposes, I would support a good sized rebate for those who aren't going to be using an automobile for the time being, but something less than $2,500-$3,000.

54:48 How about a one vehicle rebate for those described in these amendment? As in you only get a rebate for one of your fuel efficient vehicles, not multiple.

I agree with Matt about the bicycle amendment. That amount is way too much. How about $500? I think that is a huge rebate for a bike.

It's been well over 24 hours. The amendment fails with 2 ayes and 7 nays. Debate resumes.
