The "dream team" write-ins have always been a favorite part of the elections to me.

Round 2:
KEmperor/Alcon: 3 (winner on 1st preference votes)
Lewis Trondheim/True Democrat: 3

The First Preference rule no longer applies.

I was unaware of this, I'm afraid I dont read every bill the Senate debates(There are way too many of them).  How do we break ties?

Read this

Further to this, I am honestly confused as to how we might settle ties in earlier rounds. For example, at the time of writing there is a tie in Round 2 with Kemp on 6 and then Al and Lewis on 4 jointly. How do we resolve this tie? The Statute seems to indicate a runoff vote, but its not terribly clear.

As Clause 7 is not applicable, I assume that we'd just give the candidates the choice of doing the random number thing, and if the decision to do so is not unanimous, we'd have the governors vote, as it says.

In larger races like the last presidental election, that could get quite complicated with mulitple tiebreakers needed.

Yes, we recognized that, but nobody could think of a simpler way that was nonpartisan and that treated every vote as equal, so that's what we came up with.

At least give it a chance for one election before pushing to change it. Tongue

2. Hughento (I-OR)
3. WRITE-IN Immy (D-ID)
4. WRITE-IN Mr. Fresh (R-ID)

I'd like to thank the Governor for his vote, even though it won't ever be counted. Smiley

Campaign banners are fine from what I gather. It's just like in most polling places - if you have a pin or something, that's probably OK, but if you come in screaming "MICHAEL BADNARIK FOR POPE!!!!!" you'll probably be kicked out.

I wore an "I'm Thinken Blinken" button (2002 Idaho Democratic Senate Nominee) to the polls and got yelled at.  But I think the banners should be okay.

That's it, next time I go to the polls, after I vote, I'm going to scream "MICHAEL BADNARIK FOR POPE" as I leave.

Yeah, some places they do that.

But a signature is always posted so it would be like if the campaign button was melted into your skin or attached or...yeah...the metaphor isn't really effective anymore.

You get the idea. ;)

I think because they are stickied, and none of the other threads are, and no one has noticed until now. =P

They are actually exempted in the Constitution from being a campaigning act in voting booths.

I've decided we need a good Chief Justice more than we need a good President and to follow the hallowed Sooth Carolina tradition of electing Senators for life.

Wasn't Ernest one of the guys listed in the "all agree" banner that some of you had flashing in your sigs at one point?

Ernest was unhappy about the Alcon selection.  I had to re-make a special banner w/o the VP name on it for him.

He basically said he voted against me because he thinks I'm more valuable in the court.  Which is a valid positon, I hold no ill will.

Yeah I should have put it second. I voted the write-in Supersoulty/John Ford instead. Currently the Supersoulty/WMS ticket has 2 FP votes.

With Jake's new vote Lewis and KEmperor are tied in the last round.

I take it Jake doesn't like StatesSpade. Smiley

What about my Senate vote, is that valid? I won't contest if it isn't counted, though Hugh (or King if it is counted...except that he is the acting SoFA, so he'd have to sue himself) might if it were decisive.

I counted your vote Lewis. Until the SoFA or one of the candidates challenges it I will count it, in my results, as official.
