I was going to say Tom DeLay, but I realized he probably helps us in the end. I doubt having that type of guy in charge plays well with the moderates.

So I'll go with that raving insane homophobic lunatic Marilyn Musgrave.

My own.  I hate her, and if she's gone, the Republicans have a chance (slim, but there's a chance, as the district is less Democrat-friendly than it was pre-redistricting) of taking the seat.

Musgrave, Chip Pickering (R-MS), or John Hostettler (R-IN).

I doubt it...Gore won that district by 20.

Charles Rangel, perhaps. This is the fellow you can think for every rumour on the internet about the return or the draft; this is the guy who said "they don't call us [blacks] 'spic' or 'n' any more; they say 'let's cut taxes'". Every time he stands up to speak at this point, I flip to the Senate.

Barbara Lee (D-CA/Berkeley). I prefer my representatives to at least be loyal to the United States of America and not to the terrorists.

Nita Lowey (D-NY-18)

I doubt it...Gore won that district by 20.

As I said, "less Democrat-friendly than it was pre-redistricting."  Redistricting was done after the 2000 census, so it was obviously not in time for the 2000 election.  Since then, they've cut out the bits of Yonkers, Mt. Vernon, and the Bronx in District 18, all but eliminating the black vote from the district.  Before 2000, the Republicans didn't even try here...it was Nita Lowey vs. the Right-To-Life candidate.  This year, a Republican ran against Lowey for the first time in God-knows-how-many years, and actually scored in the upper 30's iirc.

Of course, the white suburbs around there are trending strongly Democrat (my town voted Democrat for the first time ever in 2004...if by 20-30 votes)...so my hope of a Republican capture of NY-18 is a pipe dream.  By the time Nita Lowey leaves (she's next in line for a Senate seat, whenever Hillary or Schumer leave), the place will probably be solidly Democratic, anyway...

EDIT:  Lowey won re-election 70-30.  So it's a bit more forlorn than I thought.  But that's incumbency + sacrificial lamb + no campaigning for you.

Close between Maxine "Gorilla Cookies" Waters, Barbara "I Surrender" Lee, and Charles "Truth Is Relative" Rangel.

Waters for her race baiting and NIMBYism, Lee for voting against the war in AFGHANISTAN!, and Rangel for his incessant lying.

Well, Marilyn Musgrave is probably my answer, but that looks like it's going to happen anyway.  So, John Boozman (Dist. 3- Arkansas) is my answer; I just hate him.

Locally: Mike Fitzpatrick (PA Cool.  Shouldn't have won considering his opponent was supposed to be cannon fodder for Greenwood.

Nationally: Tom DeLay

The numbers I cited were under the new boundaries. Under the old boundaries, Gore won NY-18 by 23, so it looks like the district didn't change that much.
