Are the tv networks doing projections for the Chamber as well? If Bunga Bunga wins the Senate, I would think he would have lead for the Chamber as well.

63% projection (Senate)...

Berlusconi - 31.6%
Bersani - 29.2%
Grillo - 24.7%
Monti - 8.6%

Yikes.

CISE projects based on 15% of the votes

ITALY'S BERLUSCONI WOULD GET 138 SENATE SEATS
BERSANI AND MONTI BLOCS WOULD GET 121 SENATORS TOGETHER
ITALY'S GRILLO PARTY WOULD GET 54 SENATORS

Well that would be a massive clusterfark.

Thanks for prolonging the Eurozone crisis yet again, Italy!

In other news, the official Senate results keep shrinking: 33.9 vs 27.9

Would Bersani even be sworn in as PM, since you need both Chamber and Senate confidence? Unless Grillo votes for confirmation and immediate dissolution.

Senate: Total clusterfark. Pukeworthy.

Any news on the Chamber? IIRC Bersani was projected to win that easily... yet he lost the Senate. This goes beyond ticket splitting, it's cognitive dissonance.

This seems very bizzare.  Only thing I can think of is a lot of Bersani voters in the Chambers voted for Grillo as a protest and that only just handed to Berlusconi victory in the Senate.

These results are both hilarious and a bit depressing.

Also, Italian pollsters must be among the worst in the world (IIRC, Prodi had a pretty solid lead in 2006).

If these projections hold, I give up with this country.

Yet, he leads in only 2 provinces on 9, funnily.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing the left could win the Chamber and the Forces of Darkness would win the Senate.

The exits haven't changed for the Camera according to the Italian press at least. Actual results show Bersani still has a 10% lead on Berlusconi with M5S in second but not many precincts are in.

One retort I always hear about the US is that "They elected Bush... twice."

This is crazier than that. Much crazier.

Yeah, this is beyond 'electing Bush' or other 'electing awful people' stuff. This is crazy, insane, depressing, revolting, disgusting and puke-worthy at the same time.

I'm going for lunch, I fully expect a horrible surprise when I return.
