John McCain wins the 2000 S.C. Primary and the GOP nomination. Bill Bradley beats Al Gore. What happens?

I say, McCain picks Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee for Vice President and continues to run on government spending and campaign finance reform. Bill Bradley picks Senator Bob Graham of Florida for Vice President and continues to run on gun control and environmental protection. The campaign is less dirty than others, but McCain wins by a sizable margin after enough Gore supporters and folks who supported President Clinton in 1992 and 1996 support John McCain, as well as around 60% of independent voters.

John McCain / Fred Thompson 53% 306 EV
Bill Bradley / Bob Graham 46% 232 EV
Other 1%
