George W. Bush chooses Governor Jeb Bush of Florida as his running mate instead of Dick Cheney. Discuss with maps.

Bush/Bush (R) 49%271 electoral votes
Gore/Lieberman (D) 50%  267 electoral votes

Having two people from the same family would probably turn some voters off. However, Jeb Bush is appealing to independents, so he could have helped George W. Bush. But, the map would probably be unchanged from what it was.

Liddy Dole would be a much better pick for southern strategy, then we get Dole 08 Cheesy

Choosing his own brother would certainly dampen Bush's favorability ratings, and he would lose in a narrow election.

Gore/Lieberman   314    49.4%

Bush/Bush           224    46.3%
Nader/Duke                    3.0%
others                            1.3%
(the appeal of third parties grows even stronger in anti-establishment reaction to the presence of a "dynastic" ticket)
