Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Whereas, as in the Northeast with the two aforementioned exceptions, every Northwestern Republican voted for unless you count Idaho (and even then Labrador's the only one against). Kind of odd pattern over there.

Kind of weird Kucinich did not vote against, especially as he has nothing to lose now.

I noticed that as well.  Kucinich's remarks on the floor the past few days were very supportive of the whole thing (or the similar versions being floated about).

The votes against from the right wing of the Democratic caucus are just bizarre. These people are ostensibly moderates in the broader context, not mirror images of the Republican right wing. At least people like Becerra and DeFazio and whoever else were clearly voting against from the left.

Like I've said, Matheson is actively worse than useless to the Democrats. He votes about half with the Republicans (on important issues) and half with Democrats (on less flashy issues). I have no respect for him, and no motivation to vote for him, as he is doing exactly what Mia Love would have done had she been in his place.

Kind of beat to it by the Times, but here's a map based off the state delegation lists provided by Nathan.

What the heck is it with overwhelming support from the left of the Democratic Party? Do even these people not realize they are shooting themselves in the foot?

I'm glad the President is back in HI getting in a round or two of golf before he actually signs the bill.  I was worried about him.

Kucinich has always been less extreme when he's not being an attention-seeking troll and now he has no reason to be.

it's not a 'conspiracy', (as if it were some death knell if it were), follow the money.

Indeed.

OK, I'm not getting my green avatar back, but I've lost most of my respect for Democrats. All this bragging about the "Middle Class" during the conventions, and that's how it ends. With some of the greatest progressives out there, from Bernie Sanders to Sherrod Brown, supporting this reactionary sh*t. Today they have proved they're almost as faulty than Republican for America's problems.

They use electronic voting for most everything but the Speaker gets to stare down his detractors face to face, eh?  Ha ha.
