I was somewhat surprised that Obama's margins dropped by a lot in Lipinski's district and is actually a more gop district then the new IL-11. Could Biggert have run in IL 3 instead and beaten Lipinski? Lipinski IIRC has a reputation as being a hack politician.

    Lipinski ran about 12 points ahead of Obama in the 3rd district. (13% better than Obama in the City of Chicago portion)  He is a good fit for the remaining conservative 'Reagan Democrats' in the 3rd District.  Progressives hate the guy, but he isn't going anywhere.
