I read this interesting article in National Geographic about Shamanism in Siberia and Mongolia and I must say I was intrigued by this ancient religion.
Here's the article for anyone who is interested:  http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2012/12/shamans/stern-text

After reading this article, how would you say you feel about shamanism?

That's a very odd set of options. Very few of us are Siberian animists so very few people are going to vote for option 1. Gauging our general sympathy towards the religion and the people and cultures that practice it (considerable, in my case) would have been better.

The root of all of what we now call 'pagan' religions that dominated societies across the planet before the advent of the Revealed Faiths.

Not so much that this particular one (or set, rather) was the 'root' as that it's a more or less continuous living example of how a lot (not all) of those religions worked.

Shamanism isn't a religion, just like Monotheism isn't a religion.

It's a category of religions.
