Wow, I was up late!

I was wondering why Harry Reid knew so much detailed info about NC!

The Tea Party Express interviewed Greg Brannon.

Though the group says they're still debating on who to endorse in NC, its sounds like they were pretty impressed with Brannon:

Rev. Mark Harris, who is slated to join the GOP field in NC next month, got some establishment help. Robin Hayes, the Chairman of the State Republican Party, will also be a co-chair of Harris' campaign. In case ya'll forgot, Hayes represented NC-08 for ten years before being bounced by Larry Kissell in 2008.

This seems a bit unusual because under Hayes, the state GOP emphasized electability:

By the sound of things, my guess is that the Republican primary will be an absolute free-for-all. Even moreso if Berger hops in.

Cassidy, to his credit, put out a nice statement on 9/11 and didn't mention Benghazi in it.

Maness, on the other hand, was at a Benghazi rally in Washington:

Berger has been in hot water this week. The person he appointed to the UNC-TV Board of Trustees wrote an op-ed a few months ago comparing Obama to Hitler:

In modern day GOP, this was a great move for Maness, while Cassidy is digging himself a grave.

Maness has his first web video up. It centers around 9/11; he was in the Air Force and was working at the Pentagon on 9/11. 'Gotta respect that.

Here's another article on him.

And the Republicans' hunt for a non-Cassidy candidate presses on!

The Hayride mentions a few prospects. The first is an old favorite:

That would be a bit odd if true, as Guilloey is set to co-host a fundraiser for Cassidy next week. He still sounds pretty indecisive though:

I seriously think this guy just likes the limelight.

The Hayride also mentions state Rep. Alan Seabaugh of Shreveport. Seabaugh is one of the most far-right legislators, both fiscally and socially. He said he'd like to see a conservative run against Cassidy, but he's worried about Maness' ability to raise money:

Geographically, he'd be the only candidate from the north, so he'd at least have that going for him.

Still, for the Cassidy folks the fact that Republicans in the legislative leadership, like Seabaugh, are openly doubting his viability isn't very assuring.

Well if another Republican wants to enter the race, Cassidy has given them plenty of reasons to run against him.

While it's been previously revealed that Cassidy donated to Landrieu and Kathleen Blanco nearly a decade ago, it's now come to light that Cassidy donated $1,000 to Ami Bera in 2010 during Bera's first run against Dan Lungren.
