By that I mean the ones who will stay put for 12+ house terms (or 4+ senate terms) and become committee chairmen?

Well, history has shown that anyone in a majority-minority district tends to stick around a while. Same with anyone in a safe D district, though the two increasingly overlap these days.

I could make a list, but it's basically just people in safe districts who are under the age of 60.

Though some might say "every single one of'em", if you mean in the prison-stripes sense Wink

I'm thinking that, just because it's so easy to keep winning as a Republican here, Chris Stewart of Utah will be a lifer.

Yes. The people who go that far in business or politics are the same people who'd go far in the prison system if they'd been just a tiny bit dumber, unluckier, or less privileged.

Martin Heinrich (if he doesn't end up on a winning presidential ticket), Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Baldwin.

Tim Kaine has also stated that he sees in his future a long career in the senate.

Hey, I was just engaging in a bit of lame borscht-belt humor there...

To be fair, "every single one of'em" was an exaggeration.

But not enough of one for comfort, not by a wide margin. Approximately half the people who make it to the top of the pile do so because they are certifiable psychopaths. Really. This is scientific fact.

Tom Cotton and Markwayne Mullin come to mind. They're both just 35 years old, in districts that aren't voting Democratic again anytime soon, and in states that are unlikely to gerrymander them out.
