WHITE PLAINS, New York (AP) -- Three months after Election Day, Republican state Sen. Nicholas Spano was re-elected Tuesday by 18 votes out of 127,000 cast, ending the longest legislative race in New York history.

Spano's victory increased the GOP's Senate majority to 35-27.

The final tally -- and Stewart-Cousins' concession -- leaves just one undecided state race in the nation, a contest for the Kentucky Senate.
