I was looking at some Prepper sites and some preppers seem to think that Solar Flares from Iran or other country, can be created to knock out electricity.  Do you think this is possible?

It seems that the show REvolution on NBC is based on some weapon/flare that can knock out electricity. 

Its scary to think about living in a world without electricity.  Even 3 days without power would be difficult.

If Iran can emit solar flares, I believe that means Iran has been absorbed into the Sun, which could prove to be a problem.


Been known since, at the latest, '62. Here's a more detailed report on them.
