For the Democrats the little known candidates Henry, Lincoln, and Udall have some catching up to do and there are enough undecideds to give any candidate the lead.

The Republicans are highly divided in a very close contest. Romney, Gingrich, and Thune duke it out but Paul, Hagel, and Sanford are not far behind.

News Story Rolled Results-

Blanche Lincoln Fundraising Surges- 10/1/07

Following what appeared to be a slow campaign online donations have been surging for Blanche Lincoln. This comes just hours after she appeared on Fox and was largely successful in debating Bill O'Reilly.

Thune wins a surprise early endorsement from NRA- 10/1/07
The NRA has officially endorsed John Thune for the Republican Nomination. This comes extremely early and such a choice gives Thune a boost in both organization as well as fundraising.

The turn is open 48 hours, remember to contact me for endorsements.

In addition to our home states, could you also poll the second choices of those voters already supporting a candidate?

Potentially, we'll see after I get done with the other polls

I have a question: is fundraising considered in this game? Like should we put fundraisers in our campaign schedules?

Mike Gravel Campaign Announcement

Announcement at the National Press Club

Good evening. I'm Mike Gravel, a former US Senator from Alaska, and beginning next week, I shall actively seek the nomination of the Democratic Party for the President of the United States. I served two terms as the Senate's maverick, from 1969 to 1981, as a critic of the Vietnam War and government secrecy. I led a one-man filibuster against the draft, and I read into the Congressional record 4,100 pages of the Pentagon Papers. I'm running for President to be your voice, the voice of the people, against government secrecy and a lack of transparency. I'm also running to be your voice against these wars. We're doing harm every day our troops remain in Iraq, harm to ourselves and to the prospects for peace in the world. As President, I would remove our troops expeditiously, without contingency, and go back to the days where it was the Congress, accountable to the people, that declared war. President Bush’s mistake is not worth the life or maiming of more American soldiers. I'm also going to fix our tax code; our current code's unfairness is only superceded by its incomprehensibility. I'll put forward a straightforward national sales tax with proper consideration for the necessities of life through a pre-bate. I'll also put forward a plan to put real money in the Social Security Trust Fund, invest it properly and identify the interests of individual beneficiaries so they can leave their surplus funds to their heirs. I'm Senator Mike Gravel, and I'm running for President!

In the News: Fred Thompson endorses Newt Gingrich!

Today the Former Speaker of the House appeared along a popular figure of the Republican Party: Former Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN), who gave a strong endorsement of the Gingrich campaign, leaving open the posibility of a "Southern Tour" with the candidate.

To quote Former Senator Thompson:

"I have come to the growing realization for me that Newt Gingrich is the guy who can articulate what America is all about. American exceptionalism can make the case and not just read the talking points or do it off the teleprompter like some candidates already do.
He can make the case for free markets and our basic case that lower taxes can be good for everybody. Bring about growth, it's good for everybody. He is not afraid. He is tough. He is experienced. He conceived and carried out really a revolution in American politics in 1994..."

Pundits believe this will help Gingrich fend off Governor Mark Sanford and Senator John Thune
in the South, but this is mere speculation, and remains to be seen if this can help Gingrich in next week's polls.

"Hello, Burlington! Four years ago I ran for the Democratic nomination. I could never have imagined the support I got from progressive grassroots activists of all stripes across the country. The problems I hoped to fix in 2004 have only gotten worse now. Iraq has turned into a quagmire, and Afghanistan is headed the same route! The insane amounts we're spending on these wars and on tax cuts for President Bush's friends are taking their toll on the economy while the rich are living better than ever. Millions of Americans have no access to health insurance. We're eating through fossil fuels at unprecedented rates. I feel that the Democratic field is unsuited to properly tackle these issues. I see no other choice but to run for President once more."
