Also, Ron Barber looks exactly like the guy who owned Jurassic Park.  I don't know if that bodes well for his career in Washington.
Not that many DINOs left in Washington that might want to eat him alive.

I find the image of Jim Matheson stalking Barber like a Utahraptor and then devouring him kind of hilarious.

Barber's lead is down from 839 to 654 today, but he's still consistently ahead by more than McSally ever was.

I'd try, but I don't have photoshop or gif skills. It's easy to get images of Matheson looking hilarious though, and it'd be easy to do a "clever girl" caption in a Ron Barber image, for example.

Not really sure what the point of regular updates is, but this is still fun.

Flake: 1,038,056 (+46,733 from last update)
Carmona: 956,310 (+43,534)

So, yeah. Staying very steady at an ~80,000 vote lead for Flake. The provisionals, which still haven't been counted (except about 10,000 of them in some rural counties, mostly in Paul Gosar's district), will narrow that margin by I would guess 30,000 votes at most, so Flake wins fairly solidly in the end.

Barber up 654 now, as stated above.

Sheesh, could a few of you cut down on your signatures? They're obnoxiously large.

Anyway, it looks like Carmona still has a chance; there's still a lot of votes to be counted, right?

Not sure, but given how many have been counted and how little Carmona has gained (though his gains have been much faster recently as the Maricopa provisionals are counted), not nearly enough for Carmona to win, though Flake falling below 49% is possible.

It's safe to say Flake won this seat and time to move on.

Do they have runoffs if nobody hits 50%?

As I feared, this will only make defeat more frustrating.

Colleen Mathis was certainly very clever in drawing this vicious gerrymander while disguising them as 'competitive' districts.

Certainly it is not too different from what Mr. Farmer did in New Jersey where a vicious gerrymander was drawn while disguising NJ-03, NJ-05 as competitive districts.

Why? Your complaint is illogical. Few claimed that PA is not a vicious gerrymander drawn to have 'competitive' districts.

Loath as I am to ever agree with krazen, he has a point here.  Both Arizona and New Jersey had supposedly non-partisan redistricting methods which effectively ended up as gerrymanders for the minority party.  Arizona probably should average out to be 6-3 Republican, and NJ should be 8-3-1 Democratic, where the 1 is LoBiondo renting a D+2 seat until retirement or wave hits.

A Republican just can't with a straight face complain about a (mild) Dem gerrymander. And especially not when he wears a PA avatar. Period.
