Didn't know if it would happen but it did. He's the only Democratic President to be elected then reelected by over 50% of the Popular vote since FDR.

Jackson is the only other one. Obama is the only one who did not in a previous election run for President or Vice President and fail to become President or Vice President.

I don't know about 3%, but he should be able to get the 2.46% that qualifies as a mandate.

With any luck, the popular vote will come close to the 51-47-2 that I originally predicted.  

BTW, where are you getting your numbers from?  CNN still has Obama at 50%, with Romney at 48%.

That's not surprising actually, to me.

Although I await the day I get to see a candidate get 60%+ of the pop vote.
