Wine.  Red, of course.  Possibly a throaty Zinfandel with protruding midribs and razor stubble on its legs; possibly an elegant pinot noir with notes of rich, red berries; possibly a peppery, smoky, full-bodied rioja alavesa.  Depends upon the menu, really.

I've lots to do Wednesday morning, so I'll lay off the hard stuff, but I'm sure to polish off at least one 750-ml bottle of red wine as I watch the election returns.

I also have work to do wed, and it starts with a 9 am lecture. However, wine will fit right in. I'll probably start with an inky petite syrah, then open a Napa cab for the remainder of the evening.

Scotch - optimistic.

I have several things wrong with your "poll".  You combined Scotch and rum... that's just wrong.  Also, there's no option for drinking it neat?  Just wrong, man... just wrong.

Will anyone but the lil kids be posting sober?  Hell will the lil kids be posting sober?  Smiley

Indiana reports 11am my time, Alaska at 5pm... I'll be making maps in the light of day, and not boozing up. I have training on in the evening, so can't drink before that. After training, may have a beer with the boys, or may have a Scotch after I'm home.

Like Inks, I prefer to drink it neat (unless, and I haven't done this in a while, but if I'm drinking at a club and it's cheap Scotch, by which I mean Johnny Red, I'll have it with soda (water), or rarely dry (ginger ale)).

Nah... I had three rounds of scotch (I'm drinking out of a friggin Christmas mug), but I'm not feeling it too bad.  I was sad that the forum was down most of the day.

This thread inspired me to get some Virgil's Cream Soda for the occasion. Good stuff.

I'm not 21 yet, but even if I was, I would still be a teetotaler.

I had trouble getting on that day (and the next!)  To be honest, it was all pretty anti-climactic.  As I predicted, Obama won, Casey won, my congressman won, state sen, state rep, state AG, auditor general, etc., etc., all won.  Not really any competitive races for me this year.  It was, in some sense, a rather boring election for folks at least in this part of Pennsylvania.  Not much to post about.  I did go to sleep before they called Ohio, but it was looking pretty bleak for Romney by that point, and I had finished my bottle and didn't want to open another.

Looks like Obamacare is here to stay.  Might as well get used to it.  I've scheduled four specialist appointments for the coming month (allergist, gastro, headshrink, and dentist) for my son.  Not that he's sick, but I want to get as much medical service for my family as I can before things start to change.
