I have a bad feeling about this one given the homophobic nature of America Sad

Hard to see how she's doing as well as Obama.

I think Thompson takes this.

I think Baldwin will win in a very tight result. She'll under-perform Obama, but not by as much as we thought she would earlier on in this cycle.

Yeah, if she had a loving husband she'd win easier, but I fear there may be a Bradley-effect of some degree, particularly more people are uncomfortable with the though of a lesbian than a black.

The big thing here is that this poll had a large sample (1256 likely voters) and Baldwin is over the magic 50% mark.  I would be more concerned if her 3 point lead was 48-45 rather than 51-48.

That's what I think as well. At first, I thought this one was pretty over with Thompson as the Republican candidate, but Baldwin has been running quite strong in this race. I think she has the edge so long as Obama can keep some distance between himself and Romney.

This is why I want her to win, having someone who's openly gay win a senate seat would be amazing.

Democrats generally out-perform the polls in Wisconsin. Baldwin will win this, and she'll instantly be one of the best senators.
