-7 economic, -2 social. This area is a big-government mecca.

You're in Montgomery Cty?

My town would be +2.50 Economic and +5.00 Socially.  The county as a whole would be +1.00 Economic and +7.50 Socially.

Yup. Montgomery county, MD. Right next to Leftist Paradise itself.

Or something like that. The Pittsburgh area though, as a whole, would probably be:

-1.95 Economic
+6.20 Social

Uh, what the hell? That can't be right. No area with that kind of score would keep voting for Democrats over and over again. Even if you're not including the city, 6.20 is very high.

My town would have my scores.

I did my county somewhere else, but I'll do Albuquerque.

Highly divided between pretty much every quadrant out there, but overall I'd say mildly populist, about a -2 on economics and a +2 on social stuff. But there are pockets of every [at least somewhat major] ideology somewhere in the city. There's a reason the media was referring to "the swing city of Albuquerque" during the campaign. I guess the central portions are more liberal than the outlying portions, but that's not a firm rule, as some outlying areas like my West Side are more moderate than conservative while other outlying areas like the Southwest Mesa are more populist, whereas some neighborhoods tucked closer in can be very conservative. Kind of a bizarre political arrangement, really.

I would say that Hampton Township, PA would probably be:

You live in Hampton Township? I live in Hampden Township. Smiley

Where's that at?

Philadelphia, PA (as a whole):

Economic: -6.00
Social: -8.00

Northeast Philadelphia (as a whole):

Economic: -3.00
Social: -1.00 (not as socially conservative as KP thinks)

Baltimore City is about the same as Philly, though I might switch the social and economic scores.  Baltimore County (suburbs) are similar to NE Philly as well, though there I would switch the economic and social numbers too.

And the further you away from the city in exurbs and rural areas, the more conservative it gets (pretty rapidly).

NE Philly is more socially than economically conservative due to an older, more religious population that were largely in unions.  There are isolated cases where the social score in some residents can be as high as +6.00, but it's not Potter County, PA.  Our suburbs in Montgomery and Bucks Counties, PA are probably about -1.50 economic and -5.00 social.

I thought about all the local issues. Especially with our local farmers, businessmen, etc. This is what I came up with. And I am pretty sure this is what you'd commonly find across the south as a whole.

Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 5.49

Moderate Populism.

Pretty right for MA.  Then again I hear South Boston is fairly socially conservative.

Yep, it's Eugene:) Springfield is actually pretty conservative. It's commonly thought to be a redneck town.

Certainly rural/small town parts of the South (sunbelty suburban places are usually pretty different politically). Obviously the economics number goes up and down depending on how poor the town is, and the social number will get higher, the higher the number of Evangelicals, but as a generalisation (and how fun they can be!) something around -4/+6 seems about right.

My town is about 0 on social scale and about +2 on the economic scale, in my estimation.
