^See poll.

I'll be spending a large portion of my weekend in Wilmington. Back in time for the Super Bowl, though.

Positive. However, I hope you know this is going to start a whole chain of spinoff threads... starting with, well, Virginia.

Delaware is just a big tax haven for banks.
and a couple toll booths at either end.

Delaware has good fast food restaraunts that I stop at when I go up to NYC. And great gas stations. If going north, get gas in Delaware, or have it pumped for you in New Jersey.

The existance of Delaware is probably one of the oddest oddities in history.  It has no reason for existing.  It was part of PA, but we let them go their own way just before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, for some odd reason, IIRC.

It was the Constitution, but Delaware is one of those states that could vanish overnight and no one would notice for a few days.

Delaware was tacked onto Pennsylvania when the British "aquired" it from the Swedes.

Delaware is an awesome state! Some of the nicest beaches I've been to and wiped out at. And they also feature Grotto Pizza --- only the best pizza on the east coast.

You'd think it'd be interesting to know what the first state is. Then you find out it's Delaware, and no one cares.

Anyway, they're not really the first state. They're the first state to ratify the Constitution.

Nice place. I'm mostly familiar with the southern part along the shore (home to the best man from my wedding). Rehoboth Beach and Lewes are nice to visit. I agree that Grotto Pizza was pretty good.

Further inland, southern DE is rural, with a lot of chicken farms. The area has a much more southern feel (like VA) than the northern tip (like PA/NJ) of the state.

The Government of the State of Delaware forms one of the best arguments against Federalism.
