The idea that people find it difficult not to eat 3000 calories per day is really, really baffling to me. Maybe I'm under-estimating how many calories I do actually consume, but I think I would find it challenging (and expensive!) to eat that much daily. Do they eat ten extra donuts for snacks randomly throughout the day or something?

What meal do you eat that is 1500-2000 calories?

How many ham sandwiches do you eat for lunch per day? Also please describe these sandwiches in greater detail.

Jeff, did you really lose 6 pounds?  Because the last time the forum convinced you to diet, you magically started losing weight really easily, but then we found out that you lied about the weight loss.

Yes, I have lost 6 pounds.  This is no lie.

That's what you told us before...

Might be taking the Clarence Darrow routine a bit far, Inks.

Someone stretched the truth or lied on the internet. The HORROR....

I finally cooked dinner tonight!  I fried up some hamburger patties and had homemade hamburgers.  It may not have been the healthiest, but it sure was better than going out to McDonald's or Burger King.

Is it actually healthier than McDonald's? I guess you're not eating fries and a giant carbonated syrup drink with it, so that's good.

Bushie I hope you're putting some sort of vegetable on these burgers or eating them on the side or something...

No, they were the main course.  I just had a slice of cheese on each one, no lettuce or pickles or any other vegetables.

Since I don't like tomatoes or onions, that leaves just lettuce and pickles as the normal hamburger toppings.

like half your plate is missing bro

Well, any sort of dairy. Cheese or yoghurt or whatever. Though that does seem like a lot of dairy. I know I don't eat anywhere near that amount.

The same reason The Sims is one of the most popular games of all time, I suspect.

I'm not sure Bushie understands how diets work. It's not something you do for a period of time and then stop and go back to your old habits. You change your diet, and your diet stays changed for the rest of your life.

Bushie a 31-year-old man should not be afraid that he'll have a heart attack if he walks to work in the snow.

Memphis, looking for girls in church is a terrible and sacrilegious idea.

Church sounds like the perfect place for a religious to find girls.

Wow guys, thanks for reminding me of all the great episodes from the past! Though it really does drive home how much these latest seasons have decline in quality.

I very strongly prefer lentils to beans. Especially the delicate little red ones, but those can be hard to find. May have to go to whole foods to get them. The green ones next to the rice at WalMart (just labelled "lentils") are pretty good too. Saute some fresh onion and garlic and throw them in to add flavor. Beans are a big pain in the Inks. You have to soak them forever and then cook them for hours and hours after that. I do like black beans a lot though. Excellent with a bit of sour cream.

You can just get beans in cans. Sure it's a little more expensive, but 75 cents or whatever for a can of beans (which is like two or three meals if you have it with rice) is still very frugal.

Beans and rice is one of my go to foods, especially if you throw in some sauteed onion/garlic/peppers or a fried egg on top or an avocado or a liberal dousing of hot sauce, or some combination.

I bet there's a very high correlation between the number of salad bars at regular restaurants (i.e. those that don't focus solely on salads) per capita and the percentage voting Republican. Salad bars in restaurants is a very red state phenomenon.

Maybe it's a rural or "middle America" thing? I don't know. But having lived in three liberal, urban cities in my life, finding self-serve salad bars in restaurants has been a rarity. I find that they're much more common when I'm visiting other places.

One would have thought that there would have been an inverse correlation. Or do liberals prefer to eat a lot of plated salad?

Liberals prefer to pay people to make their salads for them, I think. Example
