Work out is over for the night and so is the shower.  I did some more light core cardio exercises.  I can already tell improvement in the exercises themselves.  Now, to relax for another hour while my hair dries before I go to bed to get ready for Week 12.  I will watch the Biggest Loser show from 7-9 tomorrow night and then will do night 3 of the work out on the Biggest Loser game.

I wonder how the Biggest Loser workout compares to Insanity.

I am hearing people talk about this Insanity workout off line as of late. I'm beginning to feel shooting myself might be in order. I don't know anything about it, but it sounds as frightening as cannibalism in the nude. Both of which combined are probably less daunting than this "workout".

For example, I am almost certain this "workout" involves stabbing yourself.

I think this could be one of the best investments of my life.

I'm going to the grocery store after work tomorrow and going to get some fresh groceries.  I'm going to replace the sodas with Gatorade, so I can replenish the electrolytes I lose while working out.  I will drink more water at work than soda.  As far as food, I'm going to get some fresh produce, vegetables and fruit; whole grain breads and starches; hamburger meat (I bought a George Foreman Saturday); and maybe one or two snack foods that I want.  I'm going to try to cut down on the sodas to the point that I only have them when I go out to eat.

The financial investment was small.  It was $79 for the Balance Board and $15 for the Game for a total of $101 with tax.  I figure that is a small price to pay for improving my health.

That comparison might not be too far off when you are doing it, it is hard as s***, but it really is a good feeling after you complete it without dying.

Yes because two fractures, three open wounds, and a shattered hip gives one a "good feeling". Roll Eyes

I wouldn't wish the Insanity Workout on my worst enemy.

You wanna pay the medical bills that would result?

I think I'll stick with the Biggest Loser!  Less likely to change my address to the local hospital...

It's good to see you making such an all-around effort, Bushie. While we may have different motives, I have also made it a goal this year to start eating healthier and exercising, as well as kick a couple other bad habits I have.

I'm currently on Insanity, but I don't know how much longer it will last. It's killing me. I'm sure I'll be able to do it all eventually, but I'm in such poor shape right now that I think I would die trying.

I have a few things that are motivating me right now:

1) I'm almost 31 and I don't want to be dead by 40.
2) My Christian witness would be enhanced by taking care of this body which belongs to Jesus Christ
3) I'm almost 31 and I'm still single.  I want to make myself a little more attractive physically for a lady to want to come along.
4) I'm almost 31, and I'm sick and tired of feeling 51.

One thing that is really going to help me out in this adventure is I have a friend from Oklahoma who is going to do this with me.  She hasn't quite started, yet, but she will get started tomorrow or Tuesday.  We'll be able to keep each other accountable and encouraged as we work out together!  She is planning to move to Spokane, Washington later in 2013 or early 2014 and I'll be able to visit her next Summer.

Simfan, are you familiar with Canada's old railway hotels? Especially the Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Frontenac? Wow!!! I paid $15 just for the hour long guided tour of the Banff Springs. And worth every penny. I'm not sufficiently well to do to stay at a place quite that swanky, but my experience has been that old hotels usually have smaller rooms than I prefer. And old plumbing isn't ideal either. This was certainly my experience at the Francis Marion, which is a very decent old hotel in the very decent old town of Charleston, SC.
Banff Springs

Chateau Frontenac

Very much so! In the sixth grade I wrote a story about the Banff Springs, actually.

I'm already noticing some fruit from the work out.  I weighed in this morning at my lowest level in a full year - 264.6.  That is a loss of 2.4 lbs.  Its water weight, sure, but it is still nice to see.  More than the weight, though, I felt better today knowing that I am doing something productive for once.

I just got another major endorsement of my new lifestyle change - good ole' Mom! I told her I invested $100 (I will not use the word "spent") and what I'm doing and she is fully on board! It was a no-brainer that she would be on board, but still it is nice to have my mother's support!

Unfortunately, I was not able to go grocery shopping today as I am dealing with criminal activity that occurred at my house in Oklahoma today. I'll be trying to get it sold faster tomorrow night as a result, so I probably won't be able to go to the grocery store until maybe late tomorrow evening or Wednesday. I have started the water drinking today, though. I didn't drink as much as I wanted to, but I'm just getting started!

Air Conditioner Unit got stolen.  It was chained down, the gate was locked and all precautions were taken that we could.  When my parents came to the house they found the gate intact with lock still locked, the chain-link fence still solid, the house still in good shape, so the thieves must have jumped over the fence cleanly and had to have helped, because that was a heavy unit and to clear the fence and the gate without damaging either.  We're working to file a police report and I have to call the officer tomorrow morning to give my consent to file the police report since I am the homeowner.
