I've never liked the inaugurations. I'm not much on pagentry. I wish they would just swear him in and call it a day.

I've always liked the inaugurations.  The first one I remember watching was in the 4th Grade when President Clinton was sworn in for his first term.  We watched it as a class.  I've watched every inauguration since then and try to DVR when possible.  Back in 2000, when President Bush was sworn in, I remember recording it on a blank VHS cassette.

I have never watched an inauguration in my life - I watched maybe about 20 minutes of Obama's in 2008, but it was just the early coverage of it. This one will be no different.

I think I have figured out the key to my eyesight. When I'm tired and sleepy, my vision gets steadily worse until I go to bed. By the time I go to bed, my vision is pretty lousy, actually as everything is blurry. When I'm awake, my eyesight is quite a bit better. I still have a little blurry vision, but its mostly pretty sharp.

Have you been to an optometrist? That doesn't seem right.

I'm starting to get concerned about my vision.  I'm still 99 days from my 31st birthday.  At this rate, I will at least have bi-focals before my mid 30s.  What's strange, though, is all this has started happening in the last 6 months because I had my vision checked last May and nothing showed up on the scans.  I got new glasses at the time, because my vision had changed ever so slightly since I last had it checked in 2007.  I'm not entirely sure what's going on.  One thought is that even though I've been tested 3 or 4 times for diabetes in the last 4-5 years all with negative results, maybe I am diabetic and that is affecting my eyes.  Another thought, is I got the wrong prescription.  I'm really perplexed by this.

I can't.  I have no vision insurance and I can't afford a hefty price tag.  I likely won't get insurance until June or so and I highly doubt the Indians cover vision.

My last eye exam included a pair of glasses and was $99.  I'm fortunate to say that's a fairly easy pill for me to swallow, but if you can volunteer for VTO, you can get your eyes checked out. It's one of the few arenas of healthcare where costs are reasonable. Probably beccause there are far fewer insurance claims.  What could possibly be more important than your vision? If you've had multiple checks for diabetes, I'd take the doctors at their word. The odds of multiple false negatives as astronomical.

I think mine was $125 for an exam and glasses, but that was with insurance from Dell.   I'll have to check into it.  Its bothersome and it is kind of concerning, but its not super bad right now.  I think as long as I get enough sleep, I'll be alright for a while.  I'll be able to handle it until at least June or July.  I trust the eye doctor when he said there was nothing wrong or starting to go wrong.  There were no macular degeneration, no glaucoma, nothing impeding my eyesight.  I do need to have my eyes dilated, which is one thing I have never had done, because I want to be able to drive home and I don't want a headache right after the exam and I want to be able to see clearly immediately after the exam and not have sun spots in my eyes for a few hours.  One of these days, I'll have to break down and get them dilated, but not right now.

Those two statements do not match up.  Have you even checked if your Indian insurance covers it?

I haven't checked it, really, but I don't believe they do from a pass through.  When I say I don't have vision insurance, I'm talking about traditional insurance bought either through an employer or as a stand-alone.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I suspect the percentage of people without vision insurance is north of 50%. There's not much point to it. Regular health insurance will typically cover a severe eye problem. A basic eye exam is only about $50. You don't need vision insurance to get your eyes checked out. You need to go to work for a few hours.

Having established that this thread is a red light district of sorts, why then is mentioning porn disallowed?

Because it's getting too sexual.  Which affects people other than just someone who is personally attacked.

I just spent the evening away from my apartment.  I went to have a delicious Mexican dinner then went to Walmart.  While I was out I chased down the Biggest Loser Wii game and the Wii Fit mat to go along with it.  I can't wait to get started!

I have officially begun my "Biggest Loser" challenge.  I just finished 30 minutes of light core exercises.  I have started a 4 week challenge to get started and then I can move on from there.  I plan to work out for about 30 minutes a night.  My starting weight, though, is lower than what my scale shows in my kitchen.  The kitchen scales show 266 while the Wii Balance Board shows 246.  My first weigh in is next Friday, January 25!

Naturally, I'm going to believe the kitchen scales as they've been consistent over the years.  This was the first weigh in on the Wii.

Ok Bushie, Obama did his 2 minute private inauguration. Can you carry on with your Sunday now?

I never thought I'd see the day but BushOK stated in a Facebook status update that he stayed up too late playing Monopoloy so he couldn't make it to church this morning.

Gambling and missing church? Where did our boy go wrong? Sad

If he were Catholic, I would recommend going to confession immediately. That not being an option....how can he save his soul?

The bigger question is why one would play Monopoly.
