Some very blunt foreshadowing here. We're due for some permanent involuntary time off very soon.

The end of the year?  Yes, it is nigh!

The end of this job?  Not anytime soon. Smiley

It has been snowing for roughly the last 60 hours!  I made it to work and back twice the past two days.  They thought 4-8" of snow.  We have 15-17" outside right now.  My car slid just a bit coming into the apartment complex, but no cars were coming and I just let off the gas, let off the brake, and let off the steering wheel and let the car come to a complete stop, before I corrected it.  It behaved the rest of the way in.

The snow has finally stopped and the sun is starting to break through the clouds.  Its still chilly, in the high 20s, but at least the clouds are starting to break.  Its supposed to be Partly Cloudy for the next 30-33 hours before it clouds up for a small clipper system on Sunday that may drop an inch or two at best.

I hope you're looking for a new job. Six hours worth of work on a check is pathetic.

As Franzl noted, WalMart would pay far more.....

Yes, it is pathetic, I'll agree wholeheartedly on that, but this pay period ends next Friday, and I'll have at least 40 hours, possibly 45-46 hours on the check (including New Year's Day Holiday Pay).

I bought a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard for my laptop Wednesday afternoon.  So, my laptop is further away from my eyes, its still only about 2 feet from my face, but I have had to raise the zoom on the screen from 100% to 125% and I still cannot see it clearly.  My eyes were just checked last May.  Anybody have this trouble?

Bushie, how much do you actually make an hour/month pre-tax? It still seems you're being below market value for your job? I know I'm lucky enough that my company pays over market value (at least in the Milwaukee area) so we basically get around $18.31 an hour and get $3,000 a month pre-tax. Then again we also are expected to know and learn a LOT about insurance policies.

Before taxes, I make $12 an hour and $2,016 a month before taxes based on a 21 day month.

IDK about Utah but that is definitly low for here. I think the average is about $15 an hour for most of the calls centers in the Milwaukee area.

It is low for here, as well, and I could probably make more, but I don't exactly feel like starting over and over again.

Weren't you just talking about the fact that you don't regret quitting like 7 jobs right in a row?

Regretting something and not wanting to repeat the same mistakes are two different things.

Yes, I have, but again I can't change what's already happened and there's no point in regretting it.  I don't look in the rear view mirror wishing and wanting.  I choose to keep my eyes on the road mindful of what is in the rearview mirror.

If you have this job on July 1st, I will send you $20.  And I truly hope you do keep the job.  You can't keep hopping from job to job.

I don't plan to leave this job anytime soon.  It may not pay a whole lot now, but I've got too much good going on with this job that I don't plan to leave.  Plus, you can't beat 1.25 miles and a 3-4 minute commute.  The only way you would beat that is working from home and that's too tempting to slack off.  I could be on permanent with Xerox as early as February.

It's the best I can do to offer a positive incentive (since negative incentives clearly didn't work before).  If I could send him more, I would, because I genuinely want to see him do well.

July 1st? If he's still there on Feb. 1st, I'll be surprised.

Alright Tweed and I need to sort this out.  Bushie, doesnt bet but that doesnt mean that we can't set some point spreads in the update thread.  Over/unders on weight, parlays about Kenya and jobs.  The possibilities are endless.
