I may be doing more snow updates this week.  The latest storm track has a small to medium snow storm moving in late tomorrow night and Saturday.  We may get a break Saturday evening before another clipper type storm moves in Sunday.  We'll get a break on Monday, but a storm is poised to move in Tuesday and Wednesday that will draw up plenty of moisture from the Pacific as well as a lot of cold air from Canada and could be a "doozy" of a storm.  That is the word used by our local Fox affiliate meteorologist on the 9:00 news.  Stay tuned!

Its Thursday night, so that means I can stay up a little later tonight since tomorrow is Friday! I normally go to bed between 10:30-11:00, so I'll probably go to bed between 11:30-12:00. We are starting to slow down as the Forest Service Employees start burning their leave. The US Forest Service will be closed the last two weeks of the year, so we will have very few calls the rest of the year. We will pay for it, though, on January 2 when everybody comes back! I will be putting in some overtime in January!

We are about to get walloped with two snow storms this week.  The 'appetizer' this weekend with 1-4" and the 'main course' this Tuesday and Wednesday with over a half foot likely on the Valley Floor.  This is according to our local ABC affiliate!

The forecast was 1-3" of snow by Sunday night.  I just measured at 10:20 am Saturday and we already have 3" on the ground.  Our weathermen have underestimated 3 snow storms in a row.

Forecast continues to get blown apart - I've got 5" outside my door with moderate snow still falling!

The forecast REALLY missed the mark!  1-3 inches was the forecast by midnight Monday morning.  So far, we have had 1 foot of snow.  We are "supposed" to get 2-3" tomorrow, mix with rain on Monday, and another 5-8" Tuesday-Wednesday.  They have underestimated all 4 storms we have had this year.  Based on their recent track record, I'm guessing another foot of snow over the next 4 days.  We are supposed to get a break Wednesday afternoon through Friday evening before another storm comes in Saturday after I fly out to Oklahoma!

I wish we would get snow but we usually don't get very much before Christmas.

According to the latest satellite and radar images, we should be getting back into the snow by 2:00 or 2:30 and it could last most of the evening.  Right now, we have mostly cloudy skies with a few peaks of sun every now and then.  Temperatures is 36 in Midvale right now, so we are getting a little melting taking place.  I just went out to get some lunch mainly to test the roads and the roads are mostly dry and at full speed.  I probably could have gone to church today, but I didn't think about it until I went out at 11:00 to get some lunch.  I should be able to easily go to work tomorrow, unless we get socked in again, but they are only expecting 2-3" tonight, so nothing too extravagant.  We might get more melting tomorrow as temperatures are supposed to warm to near 40 and we get some rain mixing in.  Rain always melts snow as it is a warmer substance than snow.  It will cool down pretty drastically tomorrow night and turn back to all snow and get heavy for Tuesday.  High temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday staying in the 20s to near 30 and some models have our lows dropping to the single digits or low teens by Wednesday and Thursday morning.

we will take some of your snow here in Michigan, I would love to have a white Christmas. Of course it needs to get significantly colder here first. It was 53 degrees today.

It didn't do much here today, but it looks like we're not to get used to it.  We've got another major storm coming in tomorrow starting off as rain and then switching to snow as the cold front comes through.  The snow should last from Monday evening to Wednesday morning.  We could get a little as 4", and as much as 18".  The mountains could get 3 feet.  Temps again in the 20s Tuesday-Wednesday with lows in the teens.  We get a break the rest of the week with a new storm coming in just time for Christmas.  It looks like there is a storm that's supposed to begin Sunday evening, the night before Christmas Eve.

With any luck, none.  I'm most concerned about Tuesday.  I can walk to work, but I'm not sure if I should with the bitterly cold conditions and heavy snow coupled with my heart.  It seems to me that would be ripe conditions for a heart attack.  That would be an extremely long 1.25 miles.  I may, and probable am, over-exaggerating the conditions, but that would be the worst case scenario.

I'm in the work night leading up to Week 7 which begins tomorrow.  This is my final full work week of 2012 (as I believe its the last full work week for everybody!).  This should be a very slow week as the US Forest Service is closed for Christmas and New Year's.  I believe they closed up shop at the close of business on Friday.  We'll still have calls, but they will be very few and far between and they will be people working from home.  Since this is a very slow week, I may not work all day every day.  They will likely implement VTO (Voluntary Time Off) the rest of the year.  Also, my schedule could change this week.  Up until now, I've been working 8:00-4:30.  It could change to 6:00-2:30.

Not if I can help it!  I'm done playing games.  I am almost 31 years old, I am not getting any younger.  I need to settle down.  I want to hold onto Xerox until 1) I move to Kenya in 2017 or 2) I retire if Kenya doesn't work out.

Or you know, you could just not be pathetic and just drive it. Would take 5-10 minutes at most in the worst snow conditions, and it would be on the lower side of that. Besies, you're in Utah, you'd be on the only person who doesn't now how to drive in snow so you should be fine.

Bushie a 31-year-old man should not be afraid that he'll have a heart attack if he walks to work in the snow.
