There's got to be a catch.

I think it'll be at least 14% in the end, but I'm amazed that any pollster is actually admitting it.

Marquette Law School predicted both the Walker Recall and Republican Senate Primary almost perfectly. They are the best pollster in the state.

Doesn't make much sense. How could PPP be so off?

party ID is D+2, in 2008 it was D+6 (not that I think this is the sole arbiter of whether it is a good poll but some of you obsess about it so there you are.)

EDIT: that was last month's sorry

Before the Ryan pick WI was like MN, NM, PA and MI, as in a state Romney's team wasn't  contesting because it didn't seem worth it. Then OH and VA started looking shakey and they needed a backup plan in case, which I think helped with the Ryan decision. But this and other polls makes me believe that the state is more competitive than say MI or PA, but it isn't in the same category as say IA or CO.  I just don't see Romney losing either of VA or OH but winning WI. It is more like NH and NV, as in states Romney can win but only if he ends up with a PV of +3 or more

PPP has become a glorified Rasmussen.

Here's the link:

The Marquette University Law School Poll released Wednesday afternoon shows Democrat Tammy Baldwin leading Republican Tommy Thompson 50 to 41 percent in the U.S. Senate race.

The mid-August poll was exactly reversed. Thompson was leading Baldwin 50 to 41 percent.

The biggest change is in the independent vote, the poll shows.

In the presidential race, President Barack Obama continues to lead Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Wisconsin. Obama leads 54 to 40 percent.  In August, the president was ahead of Romney 49 to 46 percent.

This is the biggest margin Obama has seen all year in the Badger state. He, too, gained ground with the independent voters.

Obama's job approval rating among registered voters improved from August, 54 to 48 percent.

Joke poll obviously from the "far superior pollster" (© Krazen) Marquette ...

Uni poll?  Outlyer?  It wouldn't have to PPP that is way off, but every other poll.

Marquette's actually a good pollster, surprisingly, so I'd say either major outlier or just plain something downright bizarre is going on up in Wisconsin.

The average is much more important:

PPP: Obama+1
Quinnipiac: Obama+6
Marquette: Obama+14

So, Obama+7 on average.

With a new Marist/NBC poll coming tomorrow for Wisconsin.

I have a feeling they've over-compensated their polls to the right to remove allegations of bias.

Yeah, no. I'd be surprised if Obama won by double digits in Wisconsin, even after recent events.

This poll also has Baldwin up by 9%, even better than the two Dem-sponsored polls this week, so it seems like an outlier.

Even the best of pollsters can produce outliers -- this being an example.

They predicted the recall correctly, so they know how to poll the state.

They also predicted the Republican Senate Primary correctly, the are the best pollster in the state. They could be off by a few points here, but by not much probably.
