There was a reason it wasn't on Primetime.

Free birth control for everyone isn't exactly a compelling issue.

I don't think that you can claim that you're not a public figure after taking the stage at the national convention of a major political party.

Anyway, the time would have been far better spent on a promising young elected Democrat or a non-politician with a more compelling personal story.

Pretty awful. Roe v. Wade isn't going anywhere. It was just meant to marginalize women and stir up the base, but it's a convention and that's what conventions are all about.

The woman is 30, and expects Georgetown U. to pay for her birth control?

Oh, my heart bleeds...

I give it an 'A'. It was one of the best speeches so far.

If her S.O. is too cheep to buy condoms, maybe she shouldn't be with him.

I bet she likes it rough.

Well, I gave her an F, but to be fair, I watched it on-line this morning and hers was the first speech after I watched Clinton.  Hard act to follow.

Can't really blame her, but her speech writers were over-reaching, in my opinion. Fluke sounded petty, vindictive, and grievance-obsessed. I just don't think most women enjoy being told that they're victims.

Can't BELIEVE they had her on at 10 pm, either. Dems really that hard-up for talent?

misogyny is one thing -- it dies hard, but more bothersome is the extreme inanity and the repeat fire at the easy target (sexualizing Fluke).

Yeah, these guys make me embarrassed to be a misogynist.  Guys, there are plenty of real reasons to dislike women, but the request for socialized birth control is obviously reasonable.

I think the best part of Fluke's speech was when she said something about decisions on birth control being made by people who will never use it. That needed to be said.
