He's definitely making good points about the spotty logic of Republican deficit and taxation plans. This is the best speech I've seen at the DNC so far.

Fantastic speech given by Bill. Too bad he isn't president.

Clinton was brilliant. Yes brilliant. He did and does exactly what I aspire to do. Be interesting, be eloquent, but also have a total mastery of the facts (and know which are the most salient), and then color them in a persuasive way, to make your case. (If I don't have a total mastery of the facts, when the stakes are high, I would probably have a nervous breakdown. I demand that, and monomaniacally seek that - it's in my genes.) I have been aspiring to do that for about 35 years of legal practice, and when I think of it, all my life, when in the advocative mode. (Here actually, I am not in the advocative mode. I say what I really believe, without factual coloration; yes many of you may consider that self impression, as a symptom of psychosis.)  Clinton sets the standard, as to what I have always aspired professionally. Kudos to him. We in many ways, think alike, even while in others, do not.

Oh yes, Clinton did go on too long. The speech should have been 15 minutes shorter. Thus he gets but a solid A, rather than a A+.  If you go on too long, folks tune you out, and when they tune you out, they tend to forget or depreciate what they heard before they just drifted away.

Alex Castellanos said this is the moment where President Obama won re-election. Clinton saved the party once when it drifted away from its roots, he just did it again.

Always so interesting to watch Fox after what was clearly a good speech. Brit Hume actually had to dip back into Monica Lewinski.  Of course over on MSNBC their raging Clinton hard ons is just as embarassing

The first part was too retrospective and he glossed over the economy, which is the key issue.

The problem for Obama is that economy got worse and has not approved.

It was also too long.

I'm actually not watching it.  I don't really care about what a bunch of center-leftists have to circle-jerk about.

Except it's not bill Clinton running. Tomorrow or the next day Clinton's words will fade, and we will be left looking at Obama and Romney. And despite what anyone may think, it is expected that a former president will give a great speech. no one is really surprised he did a great job tonight, but the fact remains that America is in the crapper and no amount of powerful/positive words will change how people view their lives if they are still unemployed or losing wealth after 4 years.

The only speech I've watched is Emanuel Cleaver. I do plan on watching Castro sometime obviously, but it sounds like Clinton is also a must see. I'm sure that'll be all over YouTube soon though.

You had to see what Brit did. He mocked Clinton's waving "crooked" finger and then said "remember that is the same finger that waved when he said 'I did not...with that woman.'" It was very mean spirited

And Obama's got to follow that tomorrow. Won't be easy.

Obama is just as great a speaker as Clinton, but in different ways. There's no point in trying to out-Clinton Clinton.

Oh, how I've missed this man. Very nice to be harkened back to days when a president would dare utter the words "here's why." If only we had Bill back in that Oval Office today. Imagine talking about the facts in politics... Unfortunately, I fear Clinton will be the last of his kind, and that's a hugely sad thing for America.

Romney and Ryan need to stop thinking about demographics and start being honest and clear. There's an argument to be made about opening the doors for changes in welfare, but it's such an unbalanced one to make that it is no longer worth making. Let's talk about the clear differences and the facts and the figures. We deserve this.

This speech will probably do a lot for Obama. As a Republican, my only bright hope is that Clinton might have set the bar too high for the president tomorrow night. We'll see.

That the main Republican criticism of this speech was that it was too long says a lot about how much of a joke party the GOP has become.

If a person seriously thinks that the economy was healthier in January 2009 than it was in July 2012, then they are a dumb.
