Wow only Bushie, PiT and I have picked the 49ers so far.

People don't respect teams without "franchise QBs", regardless of how good the team as a whole is. I'll go ahead and say that @GB is the second hardest game on our schedule after @NO, but this team is legit and can compete with any club, anytime, anywhere. If people doubt, then that's their problem.

Why do you fear the Saints more than the Packers?

Anyway, if homers and Bushie are the only ones picking the 49ers...great team no doubt, I had them going to the SB last year but the Packers should be favored here.

Because the Saints are going to be angry about losing in the Divisional game last year and the Louisiana Superdome is probably the toughest venue in the country. Besides, we have to play New Orleans later in the season when our gameplan is more of a known quantity to other teams. Finally, their team doesn't rely on turnovers like the Packers do, so our disciplined offensive style is less effective against them than it is against Green Bay.

Really, there's not much difference between those two games. We have to play strong offensive teams on the road, which is a less than ideal arrangement. The differences that do exist make me less excited about playing New Orleans, though. Sure they're not going to have Sean Payton, but Drew Brees has a strong record of NFL success and plenty of continuity in the system. I doubt that their offense will really hurt much for the lack.

What's more, why would I fear either team? It's a football game. It's not like they're going to stab me to death or something.

Actually, the Saints might.

We're about 40 minutes from kickoff of the 1:00 pm games.  What is everybody looking for today?

The Jets have a 21-0 lead already. I can't believe people fell for that undeserved Bills hype.

Watching things closely - I have four fantasy football teams this year. Surely at least one of them will be pretty good. Wink

Pretty impressed with the Chiefs thus far. I think we have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, though.

Did the Chiefs forget that you have to play football for 60 minutes instead of 30?

so can the Jets beat Pittsburgh?  my gut says today's performance had more to do with Buffalo being bad than the Jets good -- though Holmes/Kerley/Hill are probably a touch better than we had expected.  another nice thing to remember is Keller didn't even play today.

the running game / Greene look inept.

Hilarious, isn't it?  Of course, growing up on Buffalo sports, I've learned to be cautious to prevent disappointment in the end Tongue

Also remember that Buffalo seemed to make the game interesting late in the game pulling to within 2 possessions before New York closed them out.  I didn't watch the game (instead I had the Redskins/Saints), but from what I watched on NFL.com Buffalo had no business of scoring 4 touchdowns.

While I jumped off the Greene train a some time ago, I really think this is too small a sample size. The first half the Jets ran the ball enough to be effective- picking up 3-4 consistently and a 12yder mixed in. Up 34 pts they got very conservative so I don't think you can accurately judge.  However, I'm not going to look for things to be upset about, obviously the tackling was poor on the Spiller runs and they should clean that up. They all got real sloppy/lazy on defense down the stretch too.  Very pleased with the W and so happy to have Wayne Hunter gone from RT.

Its pretty clear that No Schitty/Hunter has made a big impact on the ability of our offense to be effective. Sanchez looked real, real nice today. NYP should put their editors on the cover in clown costumes.

I had a real good feeling about today; should have put my money where my mouth and brain was Smiley  Jets always handle the Bills.

As good as Sanchez was he still missed a few throws that could have made the score more uneven. He played great but also showed his Jeckyl and Hyde routine that drives us Jets fans nuts. eg. dumb shovel pass for an INT and another fumble that was happily recovered.

Great debut by Stephen Hill and Kerley stepping up big.
