Alright, does anyone here really believe Frist would be a strong candidate? If so why? He's actually the guy I'd love the Republicans to run since he has Bob Dole written all over him.

First he's the Senate Majority Leader. This is a terrible launching pad for the White House. It requires that one piss off the other side and alianate possible swing voters. Plus it makes being portrayed as a total party hack fairly simple.

Then of course there's the fact he is not moderate, has no charisma and not attributes that make him particularly strong. And the cat killer thing would hurt him a lot more than some would expect.

Even weaker than John Kerry overall.

A while back, Bill Frist acquired cats from an animal shelter and told them he was adopting them as pets. Instead he killed them and tried to justify it by claiming he was doing "experiments" on them.

I tend to disagree.  I think that Frist would be an excellent candidate because he would appease both the extremist right and the moderate right.  It's all about personality and I believe him to be very personable.
I think he could beat any Democrat we have possibly running right now.

I'm not sure about Frist. He's suchhhhhh a boring candidate, and he would be a lame President. But, he's southern and conservative.....he could tap that base just as good as Bush. It really depends on who the Democratic candidate is....if it's another Kerry, we lose.

I know, my point was that Frist might be able to do decently. I disliked Gore, many people did...but Bush sucked just as bad, which is the one of the reasons Gore did so well. Like I said, if Frist is put up against a likeable Democrat, he loses.
