Liberal who became more radical after witnessing some of the carnage in the middle east. Supported Bernie in 2016 and 2020.

It was a modernized version of Walt Disney.

Liberal who became more radical after witnessing some of the carnage in the middle east. Supported Bernie in 2016 and 2020.

Gender: Male
Age: 23
Race/Ethnicity: White/English
Location/Hometown: Lincoln, Alabama
Religion: Raised Baptist, seldom attends Church but still believes in God and considers self spiritual.
Education: High School, would like to attend college eventually
Occupation: Assembly Line worker at Lincoln, Al Honda plant.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Relationship Status: In long distance relationship with woman in New Orleans
Interests/Other notes: classic Glam Rock, emo music, Record collecting, anime, musical theater, motorcycling. Grew up in very stereotypical white southern family, had an emo phase in high school and was frequently accused of being gay. Has come to despise activities that he was forced to participate in growing up that he regards as being overly macho like going to high school football games and hunting. Probably the only stereotypically masculine interest he has is motorcycling. He rides his vintage Honda bike that he got with an employee discount down to New Orleans most weekends and longer when he can get time off for work to see his girlfriend who is queer and mostly into other women. Sometimes wishes he was a woman, says he feels like a "lesbian trapped in a mans body" but is fairly certain he isn't trans.

He seems like he was deeply conservative in high school trying to compensate for the discrimination he got, now he's a fairly comfortable and out spoken leftist especially on economic issues. Doesn't care about politics a lot but when asked he's very clearly on the left of things. Reminds me of a couple people I know actually.

Another fictional character based one;

Gender: Male
Age: 32
Race: White
Residence: Odessa, ON
Hometown: New York, NY
Religion: Jewish, Non practicing
Education: College degree
Occupation: Small Business Owner
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Relationship Status: Has a serious boyfriend
Other notes: Moved to Odessa with his family after they made bad investments and lost everything. Quickly adjusted to living in Odessa and started his own business. His mother became a local politician

Probably a fairly moderate Democrat in the US, supported Hillary in the primary and general and in 2020 may have supported Buttegieg or Biden in the primary. Supports Conservative Party in Canada.

The following is based loosely on several people I've met.

Gender: Male
Age: 53
Marital Status: Married, three children
Race/Ethnicity: White (Scotts-Irish/German)
Hometown: Gaitsville, TX
Current Location: Miami Florida
Occupation: Nightclub Manager (Has a number of other business investments, is silent partner in bar that gay brother runs)
Education: Community College degree in Business
Interests: Craft Beer, marijuana, country music, southern rock, everything related to the 60s counter-culture, is a huge fan of Hunter S Thompson in particular.

Notes: Was raised in extremely racist family that he's ashamed of, several family members were Nazi sympathizers and others were active members of Ku Klux Klan. Wife is Jewish, adopted daughter that he's very close to is black and he's estranged from family. Worked briefly on citrus farms in his youth and was fired for leading a union organizing drive, is sympathetic to organized labor to this day and has given money to the UFCW. However he has some prejudices of his own, while being sympathetic to immigrants in general living in Miami has brought out bigoted attitudes towards Cuban-Americans who he claims are disloyal to America and remind him of his bigoted relatives. Also has an even more pronounced Islamaphobia which became more intense after his gay brother (the only relative he's still close to) was nearly killed in the Pulse massacre. When challenged by his kids who say he's a hypocrite and sounds like the bigoted relatives he claims to despise he becomes almost violently angry at the comparison.

Almost certainly a Democrat given his union background and antiracist efforts despite his dislike of Muslims. His dislike of Cubans only increased after they turned towards Trump in the past election.

Participated in BLM protests and has recently tweeted about the Tuskegee medical experiments in relation to the Covid vaccine rollout
-Despite his wealth, he lives a fairly simple life within the city and prefers to donate much of his income and book loyalties to charity

So this person thinks of Republicans as next to nazis, votes for and supports democrats up and down the ballot. Has never even considered voting for a republican. That being said they are fairly conservative and are almost libertarian in their beliefs about the role of government. Notorious bigot against other religions and LGBT people. Emphatically endorsed Obama in 2008, Clinton in 2016 (after the primaries), and Booker initially in 2020, then Biden after Clyburn endorsed him and Booker dropped out. Garnered minor headlines in the state for his, er, controversial comments about Buttigieg. Wasn't thrilled about Harris has VP cause she's a woman and he's not big on women in power. Privately sees her as "not all black".

Age: 51
Race: Asian
Hometown: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Residence: Plymouth, Minnesota
Religion: Buddhist influenced Catholic
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Married, three children
Education: Post-Graduate Degree
Occupation: Assistant Principal
Income: 80,000 dollars/year
Interests: Meditation, Soccer, Beer, Dogs, Yoga
Other:
- Born to a professors son in Cambodia, her mother was a French high school teacher.
- Immigrated to America with her sibling with her Aunt and Uncle after her parents and grandfather were killed by Pol Pot in 1975
- Worked her way through her entire education. Has a BA in Phycology and a MA in Education from the University of Minnesota. However she faced major discrimination throughout her college and professional career.
-Generally regarded as a kind person. Pursued a career in education to follow in her family's footsteps.
-Has wanted to be a high school principal, but has been passed over for the role as she sees it.

An immigrant woman into meditation and yoga who works in a public school seems like a wildly obvious Democrat by every current cultural cleavage and stereotype, but the Pol Pot backstory might make her atypically hostile to the Berniecrat/DSA wing of the party.

Gender: Female
Age: 48
Race/ethnicity: Japanese
Sexual orientation: Straight
Hometown: Niigata
Current location: Tokyo
Relationship status: Recently married for the first time; husband had been a widower
Education: Little formal education, but pretends otherwise
Occupation: Hostess-proprietress of an upscale restaurant
Hobbies: Art collecting, poetry, historical dress, meddling in the affairs of her regulars
Other: Her restaurant's clientele includes a disproportionate number of frontline Japanese politicians, not necessarily all from the same party as her.

Age and profile suggests that she isn't too radical on politics, but that nonetheless she isn't LDP. I'm gonna guess CDP out of opposition to Constitutional revision on Article 9 and nuclear power post-Fukushima.

Age: 30
Race: White (Scotch-Irish)
Residence: Nashville, Tennessee
Hometown: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Religion: Methodist (semi-observant)
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: In a relationship
Education: BA in Accounting
Occupation: Accountant
Income: 65,000 dollars/year
Interests: Fantasy/Young Adult Literature, Movies, Television, Jogging, Fanfiction Writing
Other:
-Was raised by emotionally distant and somewhat mentally abusive parents, leading her to use books especially Harry Potter as escapism. Is a massive Harry Potter fan to the extent she owns vast amounts of related merchandise and frequently rereads the entire series or rewatches the movies. Has written several booksize fanfiction works using Harry Potter characters. Closely follows JK Rowling and holds her opinions on all subjects in high regard even if they are on things that do not interest her otherwise.
-Mostly a vegetarian nowadays though she frequently "cheats" on this
-Was gifted a handgun by a relative after a mugging though she has barely touched it since receiving it

I mean, someone whose guiding philosophy is "the Two Whatevers except it's J.K. Rowling" would be PMC center-left with a weirdly strong transphobic streak, obviously. So I guess the million-dollar question is if she loves or hates Elizabeth Warren.

Since we're on this subject, here's a tweaked version of someone I got to know through a fandom I'm in:

Gender: Female
Age: 35
Race/ethnicity: Ashkenazi Jewish
Sexual orientation: Asexual
Hometown: Sydney, New South Wales
Current location: Byron Bay, New South Wales
Relationship status: Single
Religion: Agnostic
Education: Master's in chemical engineering
Occupation: Research chemist
Interests and hobbies: Botany, paleontology, science fiction and fantasy literature, cooking, photography, swimming
Other: Caregiver for elderly parent.

I am not too much of an expert in Australian political cleavages, but an agnostic female chemist in a rich hippiefied touristic town sounds easily like a Green voter.

This one I originally construed starting from certain political leanings in another thread, but is also inspired to a real person:
Gender - Male
Age - 79
Race - White
Sexual orientation - Heterosexual
Relationship status - Married (two children)
Hometown - A farm in Etowah County, Alabama
Current location - A house in the woods in Etowah County, Alabama
Religion - Catholic
Education - High school graduate
Occupation - Retired bank clerk
Interests and hobbies - Reading, charitable activities, political news
Other things of note -
Doesn't like at all to be surrounded by a lot of Southern Baptists
Considers FDR and Truman political heroes
Ready to jump on any economic policy proposal or bill which according to him "doesn't add up"

Favors a strong, assertive US foreign policy, is fiscally conservative. Electorally, he is probably no outlier in Alabama - voted Democratic when Democrats were dominant and voted Republican when Republicans were dominant. Voted consistently Republican in presidential elections since Nixon. The last Democrats he voted for statewide were Shelby, maybe Heflin, maybe Siegelman, and MAYBE Jones. Does not like Trump but voted for him anyway. He liked Romney more.

Gender - Male
Age - 44
Race - White
Sexual Orientation - Heterosexual
Religion - Lutheran, but does not really know what that means. Sees himself as Christian.
Relationship Status - Married, three children
Hometown - Belleville, IL
Current Location - Belleville, IL
Education - College
Occupation - Accountant at a middle-sized textile printing company
Interests and hobbies - walking with his dog; movies; a cold one with his pals
Other things of note - has a gay nephew; has thought about running for state house; follows Covid-restrictions

Sad

He was heavily modeled after my paternal grandfather and it was supposed to be an ancestral Democrat who's never stopped voting blue and was outraged by the 2017 tax cuts. But yeah it wasn't too convincing.

Probably a moderate but fairly partisan Republican. Votes for the GOP in Presidential and state-level elections generally though more flexible in local races. Liked Obama in 2008 but still pulled the lever for McCain, voted for Trump in both the 2016 primaries and general though he was never an enthusiastic Trumpist. Ended up going for Biden this year, however, because of Covid despite voting mostly Republican downballot.

Based on a real person

Age: 34
Race: White (English, German)
Residence: Los Angeles, California
Hometown: Butler, Missouri
Religion: Agnostic (some pantheistic sympathies)
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Married, twice divorced, no children
Education: Graduate of the United States Naval Academy, some graduate coursework in Mathematics and Physics
Occupation: Science fiction writer
Income: 50,000 dollars/year
Interests: Science Fiction Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Politics, Military/National Security Affairs
Other:-Was a navy officer for several years
-Very interested in politics, was involved in a gubernatorial campaign and was an unsuccessful candidate for California State Assembly himself in 2018

Robert A. Heinlein would be a safe-ish Democratic voter today, amazingly. Might have gone for Johnson in 2016, though.

My last one was Kazu from the novel After the Banquet.

Someone else feel free to create the next one.

Read "Life Line" last night and then was reading about Heinlein's early life when he was a left-libertarian who backed Upton Sinclair's EPIC campaign in 1934. The younger Heinlein would have been a Berniecrat, possibly a Dirtbag Leftist.

Conservative leaning independent (the rare conservative on his music scene) His mother (who died of liver cancer) from a lack of insurance has made him open to the idea of Universal Health Care. At the same time it was reflecting on her alcoholism (which triggered that cancer) that caused him to get sober that led to his developing a conservative attitude towards drugs and alcohol towards drugs and he supports paternalistic measures aimed at curbing addiction. In both his Libertarian and more socially conservative phase he's voted Republican fairly consistently except for Perot in 92, Obama in 08 and Evan McMullian in 2016. Despite having a strong and longstanding dislike for Trump he reluctantly held his nose and voted for him in 2020 due primarily to fears about the impact that another round of lockdowns could have on what remained of the music scene.

Gender: Male
Age: 43
Race: White (English/Scotts-Irish/fairly distant Jewish ancestry he's fond of pointing out)
Religion: Raised Presbyterian, now attends Episcopalian church while identifying as a Deist
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Current Location: Charolettsville, Virginia
Occupation: Professor of early American history at University of Virginia (has also published several bestselling books)
Education: PhD
Relationship Status: Married
Sexual Orientation: Gay
Hobbies: Civil and revolutionary War Reenacting, Philosophical discussions Historical Fiction, rare book collections, pop art, classic cinema (particularly westerns and war movies), hosting parties for students and fellow faculty, wine counissuer with many rare and vintage bottles.

Other: A longtime devotee of the lost cause and romantic whose passion for History began when he saw the Ken Burns civil war series as a kid. Romanticizes war in general, comes from a family with a long history of military service, attempted to enlist himself shortly after 9/11 but was rejected when his sexual orientation was discovered and has long since been a source of bitterness. Has written several articles and short essays arguing that secession was justified and the Civil War was not about slavery. Fears they will come out and destroy his reputation as a gregarious and laid back professor who grades easily and often buys alcohol for underage students.

In the past six years however (even moreso after witnessing the Unite the Right rally firsthand) he has begun to be more quiet about these views and has gone to painstaking lengths to expunge these articles. Also resigned longtime membership in Sons of Confederate Veterans when it became apparent to him how genuinely racist they were. Still he becomes angry and defensive when people try to point out how inherently racist the lost cause itself is and rants about how his father who also believed in the Lost Cause was a lawyer who defended black clients pro bono. Husband is an Iranian immigrant whose family was effected by Trump's travel ban.

Is also a Thomas Jefferson scholar, fanboy and (to some degree) Larper.

Wow, this is certainly a quality effort, but is very likely wrong.
My character was no less than Metallica frontman James Hetfield (compare my current display name, lol).
His mother rejected cures for cancer because she was a strict Christian Scientist (so was his father). This upbringing is reflected in songs such as The God That Failed or Mama Said or Until It Sleeps.
He is not really public about his political views and I doubt he is exactly a liberal, but I suspect his voting record is much less Republican than you made it.

Another fictional character based one;

Gender: Male
Age: 32
Race: White
Residence: Odessa, ON
Hometown: New York, NY
Religion: Jewish, Non practicing
Education: College degree
Occupation: Small Business Owner
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Relationship Status: Has a serious boyfriend
Other notes: Moved to Odessa with his family after they made bad investments and lost everything. Quickly adjusted to living in Odessa and started his own business. His mother became a local politician

Is this David from Schitt's Creek?

Pre-2016 a fairly moderate though not particularly political Republican that voted for Romney in 2012. Voted for Hillary in 2016 and re-registered as an independent. Has been pretty consistently critical of Trump and easily voted for Biden in 2020. Living in Japan and seeing the difference in it's response to COVID compared to the US made the decision that much easier. Though her cop father is still a staunch Republican her own formerly pro-cop sentiments have faded, also as a result of living abroad and comparing the difference between Japanese and American cops.

Gender: Female
Age: 42
Race/Ethnicity: White (German/Jewish) Father is son of holocaust survivors who remained in Germany after the war. Mother is German gentile.
Religion: Conservative Jew (raised Lutheran but converted as an adult. Was Reform at first but then started taking it somewhat more seriously, keeping kosher and fasting on Shabbos)
Residence/Hometown: Berlin, Germany
Relationship Status: Married, one daughter
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Education: Film school dropout
Occupation: Assistant Producer at TV Studio/Musician/Author
Other: Has written bestselling collection of short stories about her misspent punk rock youth where she (among other things) once took a neo-nazi's virginity and then traumatized him when she mentioned that she was Jewish. She's currently in talks with Netflix to have these stories adopted into a miniseries. Played drums in all girl punk/grunge band that was signed by record label and promoted as the German L7 and had several hits in the late 90s before breaking up. They still have an occasional reunion tour though.
