I will give Ben until tomorrow morning.

Would the members be in agreement that we should start an investigation of the renewed absence of SoIA Morgieb, and expedite it ahead of the other potential topics?

We need to figure out what's going on with Morgie.  This is absurd.

The Government Oversight and Reform Committee has recommended that the following be adopted to improve the functionality of gov't and increase both interaction and continuity amongst the various office:

By a 3-0 margin, that cabinet officials be required to provide "summary reports" to their successors that include the major events of their term, the responses taken by them in response to those events, and likely results or subsequent issues arising down the road.

By a 3-0 margin, that officials post a regular status update at consistent, established intervals.

By a 3-0 margin, that said intervals be established by statue.

By a 3-0 margin that dismal/impeachment be the recommended/utilized option for dealing with officials who fail to make these reports.

Since two members have expressed a desire to discuss the issue of Morgieb's incompetence, and the third has not expressed any opposition to doing so it is now moved to the to of the agenda?

The following people are my recommendations for summoning to appear:

President Napoleon
SoIA Morgieb
GM shua
The Regional Executives, primarily Nix

Anyone else? Any objections to the list?

I'd move Morgieb to the top of that list. Tongue

Otherwise, no objection.

They get scrambled in the PM thing anyway. I spent over a year meticulously ordering the Senators by Senority only to find out the system mixes them up.

Ben, if you can respond on the list, I can send out thE PM tonight.

So you want to do them one at a time? That could take longer, couldn't it?

I guess I should posed an introductory statement.

This is an investigative hearing into the absence of the SoIA, the impact of that absence, the responses to the problem by the administation and any other related questions that arise. Any one of the three members of the committee may ask a question of any of the seven individual, including seeking further detail on a previously answered question, but I would appreciated if questions weren't repeated (SO PAY ATTENTION TO EACH OTHER BEN AND SCOTT!!!). As for those I contacted, you are responsible for monitoring this thread and responding to all questions posed to you. You may respond to a question not posed directly to you, but is in some way releated. Thus the other Governor's may opine on questions posed to Nix below, in fact I would encourage that they make some kind of statement as well.

This first part of the hearing will be devoted to the Regional Executives and the experiences they had in interacting with the SoIA.

Since the initial public complaint was made by Governor Averroes Nix of the Northeast, and he is the first to arrive in the building, I think it wise to begin with him. Don't be afraid to repeat stuff said in other threads or to get into great detail. We encourage that for our ease of finding the information and not missing pertinent details. Again, the other Governor's may opin at their discretion here.

Governor Nix, what were you guys doing and how essential was the SoIA to this work? How long was he "available" and when did this cease to be the case? For how long a period was he unavailable? When did he become available again and when did he become "functional" in this task (which you will establish), or is this still not the case? You may also include any other information you feel is important for the committee to become aware of.

I think you might want to check some of your months, otherwise Morgieb has even more problems then we originally though, including time travel. Tongue

Other than that typo, though I think it is very detailed and I thank the Governor for taking the time out of his business schedule to explain the situaiton. Do any of the other regional executives have anything to add? Governor Nix referenced "other Governors", I would appreciate it if those "others" would stand up and be recogonized

Do any of the committee members have follow ups for Nix?

Thank you for your explanation, Governor.  I echo the concerns you have expressed on this matter, and I have no follow-ups.

However, to morgieb I will pose two simple question which I hope are addressed in his opening statements: Why, exactly, haven't you been active, and what do you plan on doing moving forward?

Losing last night wasn't exactly, what I had planned, but AOL had other ideas of a "fun night", which included spending the whole night and most of the morming dialing out into the abyss. I still can barely function on here.

The lack of substance of responses to Scott's questions is disturbing. I would add a third "Mike Wallace" type question that probably belongs in between each of Scott's. Morgieb, are you capable at this time of executing the duties of SoIA?

Also, where is Senator Ben? He should also give feedback on Nix's statement.

ILV, do you have any details about your experiences with the SoIA on them atters of transportion ant the University bill, or any other matter that you would like to state for the record, that would be beneficial to our understanding of the situation?

Last I check, we have five regions and only two executives have posted out of 5. PiT, Tmth, Spamage, I can't imagine this hasn't been problematic for you. This is your chance to vent your frustrations and  have the cover of it having been asked of you by the committee.

I have never had any contact with the SotI for his term of office.  I do not know what bills you're referring to.

Stepping in as a regional executive...

I don't have much to add - much of what Nix has said could be applied to me. Like Governor Nix, I have made several requests on behalf of the Mideast Region, and weeks later, we're still waiting for those requests to be granted or denied.

It is frustrating, as we want to make steps forward in our region, but we're having to wait because SoIA MorgieB isn't fulfilling his duties. If MorgieB thinks that he can turn things around and straighten the course, I would encourage him to stay on as SoIA, but if he's not going to be around and active, I ask him, for the sake of the regions, to please step down as SoIA so we can find someone who can adequately do the job.
