Kids taking guns to school?Huh

Never! Never! Never!

How long's it been since you've seen the freaks that go to school?! I know this goth chick, and she scares the hell out of me. I wouldn't let her have a gun, especially when all you hear from her is:

"F--k the f---ing school!"

I mean like high school kids, not elementary school. BTW, I agree with BRTD in the porn subject. but anyways, I think guns would help weaker kids not being so scared in scholl, terrified of the bullies.

ARE YOU INSANE?HuhHuh Do you know how many murders and school shootings there would be??? It would be like replacing every fist fight with a shoot out, replacing every black eye with a murder.

I say..NO.

The bottom line is, as a student, I feel safer if neither me or the person next to me has a gun than if neither of us has a gun. And even if he had one concelead, he could shoot me before I even find mine. Most kids who commit murders at school could care less if they get hit back and killed.

Well, I think one thing that must be understood is this - the kids who are going to commit murders won't ask permission to bring a gun, they'll do it anyways. Same logic with any form of gun control applies. Criminals will always attempt to attain guns, legal or not.

I'm for allowing high school students to carry guns under certain conditions:
1. No criminal record.
2. Parental permission is given. If the parents don't trust the kid enough to carry, there's no reason we should.
3. They've passed a psychological examination, which is only applied if they express the desire to bring a gun(this way nobody is forced to do so). This will include opinion of the student given by teachers and possibly some fellow students. Perhaps even have semesterly follow-ups to gaurd against changes. Maybe analyze the parents too(once again, this is consent based).
4. Safety course passed. If they get this far, they need to take a safety course in order to know how to operate the gun safely, and the course needs to teach how to remain calm so that the gun is not used in a panic and only in proper situations.
5. 9mm or less. Perhaps even restrict the number of rounds.
6. Even a single proven complaint of abuse(in form of intimidation or otherwise) results in immediate loss of the privilege, perhaps confiscation of the weapon, and suspension or even expulsion based on the infraction.

Still, I don't know if it should be guns. Some means of self-defense would be good - perhaps a good compromise would be a taser, which in most cases is non-lethal.

The solution to bullying is not to have shootouts in school halls. Plus anyone can go insane when they crack under stress.

That allready happened. Do you think Columbine would have been such a massacre if, I don't say all, but a quarter of the people there had a gun?

Yes, and other such massacres would be more common by an order of magnitude.  All it takes is one stupid decision under stresss and bam.

I'd refuse to let my kids go to a school that had armed kids walking around.

No no NO NO NO!

Besides, if this was available since I was born, I would have been a murderer in the 4th grade Tongue

Exactly, some "sane" person gets mad and goes off.

This is just a stupid idea, there is no reason what-so-ever to ever want to bring a gun to school.

One does not have to be insane to kill.

One does not have to be insane to kill.

Exactly.  It only takes a second of unrestraint to produce a lifetime of regret.

Which can easily be done with a baseball bat or knife.

Just because some people may be unstable is no reason to revoke everone's civil rights.
