How much danger is Hatch in? The only thing more epic that primarying a 6 term senator who is the most senior member of his party would be to primary two 6 term senators who are the most senior members of their party.

I hope your right.

Things are going okay - one thing I will say - there are a lot more Republicans voting than normal; lots of Democrats crossing over to vote in the GOP primary.

May the best man win Tmfth. I endorsed Risk via twitter last nite.

Hatch took note of Bob Bennett's defeat two years ago, and he came out swinging, basically steamrolling his opponents and only having to go into a primary because of 32 delegates. He's going to win easily, unless there's a ridiculously lucky upset.

Two counties for Lugar and he just barely won Boone county (while losing an even closer Tippecanoe).

Didn't think Lugar would go down this easily, but well ... IN Republicans don't seem to like him anymore.

Lugar is standard "reasonable conservative", but with Republican party marching further and further to the right - that's not enough anymore. Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan would lose present day Republican primary as well... The same with Jimmy Carter and. possibly, Bill Clinton in Democratic primary by similar reasons..

Reagan would be with us in the Tea Party so he'd be just fine.

Fun Fact: Per "On the Issues", Dick Lugar is listed as a "Hard-Core Conservative", and is just about as far to the right at you can go. Comparatively, Reagan is much closer to the center, being labeled a "Moderate Conservative".

Of course. If Ronald Reagan ran for President in the 2012 GOP field, he would've hung around with Jon Huntsman in the polls.

The wishful thniking. He wasn't so conservative, and he wasn't dumb to be in "tea party"

Except that Reagan was much more charismatic than Huntsman is.
