I guess the white majority would prefer a white supremacist to a black supremacist.

Buchanans not a white supremacist, just a big-time isolationist.  His running mate, however, is.  I hate to play Devils Advocate, but I hate when people bag on Pat.

I agree with ya, but adding Duke basically turns it into boot just far right vs. far left, but basically a white candidate bs. a black candidate & based on just that, I think a majority of white Americans would rather have a radical that at least is on their side.

And the black vote will go 98% Jackson. The swing voters are hawks, Hispanics, moderates, and Jewish people. Whoever grabs those voters will win the election.

Actually, I think he'd do just a bit better than most Democrats do; still definitely in the high 80s and low 90s, but many moderate blacks would lead a crusade against him.  In fact, JJ might do worse with blacks than Clinton in 92.  But you put Powell or Rice on a ticket, (OR BOTH!) you get at least 30% of the black vote for the pubs.

That may very well be tge case in a NORMAL, election, but is any black person, sane or not, gonna vote for a ticket with motherf##ckin' David Duke on it?

I'd probably look somewhere else, and I'm white.

Racial issues would be...unbelievable in this scenario. I would be shocked if there wasn't some bloodshed in the streets. Maybe an outright descent into civil war, thought I doubt that. A little bit.

I'm just happy a scenario like this one is presently all but impossible.

Would make for an amazing dystopia TL though
