1872 - Undecided, maybe Charles O'Conner just because I don't know anything about him Smiley

O'Connel ran because he felt that Greeley was too Republican for the Liberal Republican ticket. His ticket was the Straight-Out Democtaic Party that was comprised of eleitist snobs from the East. His running mate was Charles Francis Adams, John Q. Adams' son.
Hadn't Adams run on one of the prewar anti-slavery tickets before?
