Given that my last few posts have caused some arguments and I am a lover not a fighter anymore- I decided to post about something I have seen the teenagers on this board post about... romance

Basically- I have a new lady friend. She is 54 and she is a fox... but also a true sweetheart. She is divorced and I take that her husband may have been abusive at least psychologically...she has two sons- one is a Sergeant in the Army (married with 2 kids) and the other is a high school mathematics teacher. She works as a paralegal and actually enjoys her work!

We met at a dinner at my Legion post last month- she is kin to the programs director and was there with her...we hit it off and have been on four dates. We have not yet made love but I have the feeling it will happen this evening... and I am timid as a limp-wristed virgin... nothing a bottle of Zinfadel cant fix...

I will never find "the one" again but I would prefer to spend time with a lovely woman who I connect with and can talk to then going around from joint to joint chasing easy box... I worry that as a not too healthy 69yo I am not being fair to her by taking so much of her time...she may be lookign to marry again for all I know. These 15 years make a difference...but for better or for worse she is some how attracted to me and I sure am to her...

Wish me luck tonight fellas-

Good luck. Once everybody involved knows what they are doing and getting into, it's hard to put age on love, and it's certainly never too late.

Good luck.  Though at your age and experience I guess luck has more to do with the equipment working than the situation working out with the lady.  A little pre-medication with Viagra would be a wise precaution, and also makes condom-use a lot more supportable..

...how can a college have a statistically significantly higher concentration of hot girls than average unless it's like Smith or something? I don't think that's something that is or should be selected for, not least because it's so subjective.

Especially because the averages would have to be very divergent to actually have any impact. Dating is not that statistics-driven.

I'm not talking statistically. My school has a certain reputation that can't really be put into such terms.

Is it something about the culture of the campus that makes the girls hot? You have to remember that 'hotness' isn't a concept that I understand, in general.

Now I'm not following what you mean. My point is merely that you can meet a girl anywhere and you can fail to get a girl anywhere. In econometrics terms the error term captures most of the explanatory power. Tongue

How so? I was actually trying to help you because I had the impression you were having the wrong type of attitude towards this.

Same here, with the added factor that I genuinely don't understand 'hotness'. Please don't compare me to Bob. He insulted my mother once.

There are a lot of hot girls at LSU and it has a reputation for that.

Just go with it! I don't see whats so controversial about that statement.

Yes, I'm sorry Nathan. Comparing anyone to Bob is an insult of the highest order.

That was a bit harsh of me!

Sorry Nathan- Southern schools tend to have better looking gals...I was in Jacksonville well before I moved to Florida in February 1965 I believe- was with a few sailors from Mayport and we were at this bar on the river- a few belles from Jacksonville U were down at the other end of the bar. We sent them some vodka cranberries and they came on over...this one little pothead from a town called Monticello FL (not pronounced MontiCHello I was told!) was on to me all night...let's just say I was drier then the Sahara the next morning- I had nothign left!!! And she still wanted more!!!!!
